Over the past twenty five years I have been running a private car. An old idea is to add Redex to your petrol. It is supposed to be a upper cyliner lubricant. It stops the buildup of carbon on the piston rings and upper cyliner head. Not wishing to tempt, I have not had any work within an engine carried out over the past three cars, some twenty years. The other advantages are a 10% reduction in fuel usage, which means it pays for itself.
Does anyone else have tips on how best to look after your car
