Wasn't this the first Zelda game to feature an ocarina? You couldn't choose which notes to play, as in Ocarina of Time, but there were three songs to learn.

Actually, A Link to the Past has what looks like an ocarina, but according to the game -- or at any rate the English version -- it's a flute. (Perhaps there wasn't enough space for 'ocarina'.)
In another gaming link, the hero of Lunar had an ocarina.

According to Zelda Legends, the flute is indeed an ocarina in the original version.
