You're going to hate me for suggesting this, but if you're really strapped for time you can make scrambled eggs in a microwave. You have to be really careful not to overcook them, but they actually come out okay.

Cue angry cries of "heathen" and "philistine".

Quicker on the stove? I disagree. Less than two minutes in the microwave and it saves on washing up too!

Good to see DNA was a scrambled egg aficionado!

It may only take two minutes in the micro, but it (in my experiance from trying the microwaved method), takes longer than the mere cooking time, due to frequent removal of the dish with the ingrediants in to stir it and check that you've not cooked it for one second more than is needed and turned it into something totally unlike Scrambled Eggs. smiley - evilgrin As for being easyier to wash up doing it the microwave route, I have a good set of non-scratch pans, and find that using the 'milk pan' is the right size for making scrambled eggs with up to four eggs, and to clean I just rinse under the hot tap smiley - magic and in general it only takes about four or five mins or so to do Scrambled Eggs for one person (with two large organic eggs) smiley - drool and the results are that much superior that it is worth the extra few minutes time to do it the 'traditional' method smiley - evilgrin I have tried the method of doing the scrambled eggs in a pyrex (or simular) dish, sitting on top of a pan with water in, but found that this had no benifit over the just doing it straight in the pan smiley - chefsmiley - drool I think I'll be having scrambled eggs today for lunch smiley - biggrinsmiley - drool

Yeah, scrambled eggs with smoked salmon! Not sure if there's a specific name for it, but it's lovely with a little bit of dill.
