We've had the police helicopter out here for 2 days - searching for an Alzheimers sufferer who didn't find his way home. I saw 4 police cars too. We all thought someone dangerous had escaped.

But I hope they find the poor guy, of course.

Oh Icy! It's so sad. We had an old lady a couple of years back, who just walked out of a nursing home (great security) in her nightie and they found her fast asleep (fortunately) in a field, saying that she thought she should go home; but couldn't remember where it was; and she was tired.

I heard today that they'd found the guy who went missing here. He turned up in Guildford (about 10 miles away)

Oh lovely! So glad there was a safe ending.

Many years ago my Mum went 'walkabout' regularly surviving a freezing night with a coat of any kind. She had dementia too and the didn't know how she survived. It is sad and terrifying when it happens. She walked out of the hospital she was in too and some how got home either walking for hours or on buses without any money. She didn't know the area where she was hospitalised and I don't know to this day how she did it!
