I hope so! Congrats to all the people working hard on the changeover! It went perfectly for me which is always good.

A quick update from me then, I'm at uni having my reading week (woo, free time! ) so I@ve got some reading to do, presentations to prepare and also essays to start thinking about. I'm studying Social Science at Blackburn University, (sorry University Centre at BLackburn College :P), so far the lecturers and people on the course are all friendly and flatmates seem OK. I tend not to see a lot of them though, mainly due to just doing things at a different time. So far I've not died of starvation or run out of money, so things are going well!

Good luck with the course. If you want a good study/revision tip, write about any interesting topics as guide entries. I'm doing that for some of my OU maths topics.

Ahh, that's a good point Icy, thanks. I've got 3 essays for January so I might convert them afterwards, depends how interesting they are.

Life's not too bad, just chose my essay titles and then I have to get some reading for the course done, should be better now that I can focus slightly more on my essay topics for the reading and read the other stuff when I get bored of the essay topics.

being on h2g2 at the moment, is like going to an old pub you used to visit years ago.... and as time passes, more and more people you recognise just happen*to walk into the pub Keep up the good work with the studying, its always better to try keep on top of the work, as catching up is just frustrating and more difficult in thelong run... so get on with the reading!

I've been away for too long (playing too many silly games over the holidays) and for a while at the start of Uni the internet was playing around but that's all sorted now.

Currently reading stuff on Power, Authority and Legitimacy, I'm doing a Social Science degree, which is going well so far.

Hi to everyone here, . I don't plan on staying away for so long again, h2g2 has a charm that places such as reddit etc can't emulate, and the smileys here are way better!

From a quick look at my conversations page it looks like I have a ton of backlog to read through tonight though.

Ooh, that sort of political philosophy was one of my favourite bits of my degree. Can't beat a bit of Hobbes, Hume and Rousseau.

Got an essay that I'm working on at the minute for economics, so that's proving to be fun (not really) good thing I'm doing it first.
