Find out what pedantic means so me can use it in intelligent conversation...
Me knows it has nothing to do with urine or has it...
Tis not a fresh garden vegtable or is it...
Note to self...
Are peas vegtables???... hmmm... me wonders...
Continuence of previous Note to Self
Dan tis a name... short for Daniel...
So maybe Daniel pee'd in the garden and got a ticking off... makes sense... Yay... that's sorted then... no worries...
Note to Self
Get a life... ~grin~
Greebs..xx
p.s.
Still unsure about the vegtable matter... needs further investigation me thinks...

Hmmm... 'pedantic'...
Well, 'ped-' is an Indo-European root, meaning 'foot'. An ant () is an insect.
So maybe pedantic means an ant's icky foot?
Oh, and peas are legumes, rather than vegetables...

Hmmm.. are you sure about that Justin my love... ~hugs~.. and now you made more work for me in having to sort out what Legumes mean... must be something to do with a prat of the body between the foot and the middle me reckons... ~grin~
Hi Danny... ~huge huggle~... me is sure me didn't have you in mind when me was working out what pedantic could possibly mean... ~biggr grin than last time...~ It could really be any Daniel... ~Greebo tries to think of a famous Daniel~... such as... er... hm... that big fellow with the red shirt and pointy shoes... you know him don't you???
Hey Coely... my bestest fishy type friend... really long tome no chat... ~huge huggles... just squeezing slightly to hard and Coely is squeezed high up into the air... but fortunately is saved from a nasty landing by the large pile of cushions that seem to have appeared from nowhere in particular...~
Phew... that was a close one... ~huggles~

Pedantic is a way to take things too far in educational contexts.

I think there is an alternate context though that means taking things too far in a conversational sense, diverting to much. but I think my friends just don't know how to use the english language.

Those of us that can use the English language can spell "too" and use it in the correct context.... (We also spell English with a capital "E")
Sorry to be a pedant....

You can't 'spell English with a capital 'E''. Spelling is about which letters you use and in what order, not the capitalisation.

Well... to be *truly* nitpicking, since we are using the medium of computers, which have a different ASCII code or whatever for capitalisation then I believe that one can "mis-spell" words by miscapitalisation, if only when typing.
Besides, MSWord dictionary will pick it out as an error, so it must be a mis-spelling. Microsoft does set the rules dun't-ye-no!

How very nice of them to set up a reserve for money like that. I mean, someone should look out for endangered species like that. I think it's nice of them... then again I think Gerri Halliwell has an awesome singing talent... so who am I to judge?

Just a test. Does h2g2 care about capitals? I think using capitals unnecessarily put some words above others. Equality for all words, I say. (except silly ones like mongooses)
