h2g2 The Hitchhiker's Guide to the Galaxy: Earth Edition

It's been a while since I visited Hootoo. Today I followed a link from my facebook page to U14997463. I discovered there was a completely different interface. Even after I signed in, my page was not displayed in Goo. I followed my link to the Classic Goo Fan Club and somehow that got my page to come up in Goo. Hope I can keep it that way. I notice there are no ads when I view it in Classic Goo. I wouldn't mind a couple of ads if it keeps the site going, but I do not want to view my page in that other ugly interface.

To change the subject, I won the prize for NaJoPoMo last year and I never posted about it here. I won a copy of The Hitchhikers Guide Earth Edition 1999-2011 A showcase of the best of h2g2. It's a great book and I love having it. It reminds me of the good old days of Hootoo when I was more active here. I appreciate everyone who contributed to it and put it together.

Re goo - you may need to click on Preferences and 'update' to classic (goo) and then bookmark your page in that skin, in order to start afresh each time with your preferred look of h2g2.

So, how are you? Will you be taking part in our journal writing challenge once again? I hope so, because I really enjoyed reading your contributions last year.

Other than that, a few of us are putting the last touches to tomorrow's Murder Mystery event, which we hope will go well, and to which I would love to see you taking part.

I find that when I use the old bookmark I have on my computer to come here, that my pages come up in Goo, so it's OK.

I've been thinking about the journal writing challenge since November is coming up quickly and trying to decide if I should participate again or not. I expect to have a very busy november this year, but it's not like I'll be neglecting my computer in the midst of it all, so that's probably no excuse. I sure was fun doing it last year and especially fun winning the book.

I'll check in on the Murder Mystery event if only to lurk.

Hi there, hellboundforjoy. It's nice to see you around (even if I see you fairly regularly in other venues). This journal has reminded me (though it's in the back of my mind fairly often) that I have a couple more h2g2 related books to send you, but they're in the bottom of a moving carton I haven't gotten to just yet.

I have to admit that between work and other responsibilities, I have a difficult time keeping up with reading all of the journals during November, but I do try to pick some random "highlights", and yours were among the particularly enjoyable for me last year.

Thanks PC. It was hard to keep up with all those journals last year. I picked a few favorites and tried to drop in on others when I could. And even then, I didn't comment on many of them. It was hard work! Nov is coming up quickly, so I'll have to decide soon if I'm going to participate this year.
