My Personal Space desperately needs to be updated. Not sure what to do with it, but it certainly needs a new quote. Not the the current quote is entirely irrelevant, but it was directed at the Bush Administration and The Faux News windbags. The Faux News Windbags are still blowing unabated and the Obama Administration has been somewhat disappointing, but still the quote seems dated.

I'd like to add links to the smileys pages, and the Spice up your Page page, as well as several other pages, for my own reference. I currently can't find the Spice up your Page page for some reason. I was getting pretty used to Guide ML when I was active a few years ago. I don't know if I have the patience right now to get used to it again. I don't have much patience lately. I guess another thing I did was go to other people's pages and copy their guide ML. I can't figure out how to do that now. I do have a practice page I could use, and for that matter I'd better use it rather than risk accidentally deleting my page and having to start over.

I'd like to have a link to the secret My Conversations popup page. Dr. Hell has one on his page, but I wasn't able to recreate it.

I'm also self conscious that my AYBABTU quote is dated and cliched, though I still like it.

I'm just kind of overwhelmed with the process right now. I guess the first step is to find the Spice up your Page page.

I never did set up a proper PS intro for myself. What I have there is years old, contains at least one rogue apostrophe and isn't even in GuideML if I remember correctly. So I'll watch this thread for things that might give me ideas one day.

The Spicing up page that this brought to my mind (not sure if it's the one you were looking for) is A690518 (a bit of self promotion, admitted )

I did find that Spicing Up page and noticed that you'd created it, Titiana. Nice work!

I think I thought the new page was an update of the old spice up your page idea. I am not sure I like the use of the word pimping.

I decided that my own page was a decade in the making so I would leave it as it is and remove some things that don't work at all. Our old pages seem preserved over at the BBC hub as they were back in 2006 so can still be seen (as at Nov 2011).

What secret my conversations page? I hate secrets that aren't really secret and only some people know.
There is the one that only shows on the left of page in youngest Brunel skin, is it that one. I could never get that to do anythng useful for me. It was explained to me how it should work but for me it didn't so I just gave up on the idea. I like the <./>info</.> page more as it tells me what is going on elsewhere.

The conversations appear down the left side of the page and they are highlighted if there are new posts in the thread. I use it in Goo. I'm not sure it's really a secret, in fact most people seem to know about it. I just want to be able to have a link to it on my PS, but when I try to use the code in the box at the top of that page it defaults to my regular "my conversations" page, where there are two columns of convos and it does not highlight when there are new posts.

I updated my quotation.

The conversations list only goes back 500 conversations by clicking on the older posts links.

This is deliberate and something to do with hampsters and asbestos boots. The conversations are there you just can't see them.

If you "unsubscribe" from conversations you are not involved in or interested in to make fewer conversations in your list you can then see back a bit further further.

There is another way which involves typing numbers manually in the url , so skip=500 changes to skip=600 etc.

Either way it is a pain and they are our conversations and we should be able to see them. But life never was fair.

I'm sure it's more than 500. I know it used to be limited, but then that changed a few years back.

I'm anal about my PS. Convo's I haven't participated in get unsubbed from. I had a few years out from h2g2 a while back and I'm still working through old convo's on my space in order to unsub. I'd reckon th limit is in the low thousands now, unless that's changed with recent coding.

Right, I've just checked, with a bit of manipulation with the URL, I can go back to *my* maximum which is around 2250 conversations. That's *all* I have in my conversations list, dataing back to when I joined in 2005.

I'd post the url manipulation, but if I go beyond what data is available it causes a server error/dump - I need to speak to the tech's about that, before too many pople try the same as I did.
