Since when was my life so hectic?!

Post 1

cafram - in the states.

It's that time of year - assignments coming out of my ears and feeling like it'll never end, core trips most weeks that you have trouble focussing on because of all the other work you're meant to be doing, trying to keep up with work and make enough money to pay rent while living on 2 minute noodles and stale bread, and then this year it has become even more challenging - a lecturer accused me and my friend of plagarism (falsely, for the record!) and my boyfriend, the one I flew across the world to see for four months, has decided that his life is too busy to include me.

So, the stress levels are up, free time and sleep are both at a minimum, and I'm just trying to keep my eyes on the light at the end of the tunnel!!

It's important to find time to relax too, Caf. Life is too short to put up with such stresses without some fun to break it up.

I'm sorry to hear about your boyfriend, here's hoping you find a way to balance it all out.

Caf

Sorry to hear about your boyfriend. smiley - cuddle All men should be shot. Repeatedly. No exceptions. smiley - tongueout

I greatly admire your hard wo*k and determination, but ER is right, Caf. Be sure to take time to smell the roses on your way through that tunnel.

Keep your balance, and for your own sake, please feed yourself better! ... all that refined paste crap will leave you feeling tired, drained and exhausted. smiley - erm Think rice, grains, potatoes, cabbage, apples, carrots, bananas, in-season vegetables, eggs, fish ... and whatever else is inexpensive down there that isn't found in a cardboard box, bag or a can. Forgive the rant, but your energetic health is of paramount importance! smiley - ok

Here's a tip I've found helpful in my own life -- FOLLOW THE 80/20 RULE -- Identify and do only the things that will make a serious impact. The top twenty percent in importance of the necessary things to do will make an eighty percent difference ... the rest is struggles with details that SUCK your time.

Here's to a less hectic and much more satisfying life. smiley - cheers

Lady Scott

Plaigurism?! smiley - yikes I know you said it was an unfounded charge, but were things resolved ok?

Why is it that guys seem to be the ones who have no trouble putting girlfriends on the back burner when something the least bit distracting happens in their life, but a woman's heart longs continually? smiley - huh I certainly don't expect a guy of the male persuasion to have any kind of reasonable answer to that, except to claim that females are the defective ones, when we females know that either you love someone or you don't, your real feelings don't constantly change, and can't be stifled just because of the inconvenience of the moment.

I can wholeheartedly vouch for AW's diet and prioritizing advice! smiley - ok

The less of that refined junk and the more *fresh* un-mucked-about-with food you put in your body, the more energy you'll have, because I doubt that given your area of study, you have any problem getting enough exercise. Those are the two physical things you can do that truly refresh a person.

Figuring out what really needs to be done an doing only those things, without getting caught up in minute little details makes everything go so much more smoothly too, especially when you're under so much stress, and gives you much more free time too. smiley - erm I know it's going to be hard to distinguish what that top 20% is though, since very likely everything claims to be top priority right now.

You'll get through all this just fine, I'm sure.

Sometimes they certainly are. smiley - smiley

But not to live on *every* day! Save the stale bread for the birds, Caf.

What's all this nonsense?? Us students *have* to live on 2-minute noodles and stale bread, it's all part of the University code smiley - winkeye And Cafram's got it easy anyway, *I'm* trying to do all that *and* move house at the same time!

Well, except for the boyfriend thing smiley - erm. And I'll have you know Lady Scott that the answer to your question is simply that it's not males who are like that, it's people - more of those people tend to be males than females, perhaps (and *only* perhaps), but that's all. Whether more people are like that than not depends, I suspect, upon your mood and viewpoint on humanity on a daily (or, for some people, weekly/monthly/yearly) basis.

But all that said, the most important thing is smiley - monstersmiley - chocsmiley - hug 'frammer smiley - cheers

*I* lived on 2-minute noodles and stale bread when I was Cafram's age, and look what it did to me! smiley - yikes

cafram - in the states.

smiley - laugh I agree - too much education is the root of all problems!

So the cold I've been anticipating has finally arrived, right at the best possible time smiley - erm - but apart from that things are getting there, slowly but surely. I do eat better than *just* two-minute noodles, we put in vegetables and soy sauce and make it realy gourmet! smiley - winkeye

The lecturer seems to have listened to our protests and has dropped the charges of plagarism, although it seems a bit odd that he can level such a heavy accusation at us and then drop it becuase we argued it.

What I really need is a good night's sleep, and the essay-fairies to come along and finish off these assignments for me. Any takers?

smiley - cheers for the concern, only a month to go and then I'll have to find one of them job things to kep me occupied for the holidays!

One job-thingie? What happened to five?? smiley - tongueout

I'd do them for you, but you'd probably get an essay about the basis of rights in democratic societies written in Latin, so I'm not sure how well you'd go smiley - winkeye
