Oh, the bruises!

Sometimes I wonder how it is that all the activities I enjoy result in enourmous bruises all over me.
I'm learning how to play ice hockey, so my knees are permanently purple, or rather an off-shade of brown - we've been out shovelling off the pond, we cleared 10 dump-truck loads of snow and now we have a rink bigger than an olympic-sized one!
I'm learning to tele ski, so I have bruises all down my sides from when I cross the tips or catch an edge, and we went sledding; hiked halfway up Mt Washington and then sledded down the Sherbourne, a 5km ski trail - a cushion would be a good idea next time!
Having a blast, don't want to go home, I'm even liking the cold; -20C...so cold that your nostrils freeze together and it hurts your lungs to take a deep breath!! Beats 30+ of summer, at any rate...!

Just be glad you're only covered with bruises and not broken bones! Those sports are actually rather famous for causing lots of broken bones.
Glad you're having a good time here though - and enjoying *real* winter weather!

Good to see you, Caf. It's also good to see that you've discovered the joys of winter weather. There are many.
You'll heal up eventually.

Then you need to insist on softer furniture and walls!

I'm Squishy and he's a Blob. When we got married, we hyphenated our names and now we're Mr. and Mrs. Squishy-Blob!

How did you all manage to turn a perfectly respectable conversation about sports (and the bruises resulting therefrom) into a cringe-worthy convo about pet names?
I'll take one of those barf bags please, AW, though I fear it may be too late.
