My mom is in the cardiac care unit now. She was getting close to being released for the breathing issues, but they wanted to look closer at things from the first scan. She's got an aortic anuerism. The docters will be doing a angiogram tomorrow some time. I will be updating as I can for the course of the treatment.

My mom has been moved to a regular room. She's got a couple of serious problems that still need to be taken care of. An aortic embolism as well as a bad aortic valve. Both of these issues were only found after the pneumonia was bad enough to require a CT scan of her lungs.
So far we don't know when the surgeries will take place, but we hope it's soon.

Marv, surgeons can do amazing things with valves these days. Try to stay positive.

My mum had open heart surgery in a hurry a few, well, actually not a few years ago, more than ten years ago. She has replacement valves. I agree with Hyp. It's serious, but not unsurmountable. Still, not easy for anyone. Hope you and yours are coping. Have another loobrush.
