Great! So many people I know have signed up this year, should be great

Looking forward to it already. It will be interesting to put faces to the names, so to speak.

And add meet more faces to put names to, quite a lot of the people I talk to here I first came across at meets.

Never thought of that, d'oh!

Nor did I until I got to Hyde park last June.

Was there a large attendance? Did you all organise an activity, or just sit around all day drinking?

There were about 100 of us, ish. (I wasn't counting )

In the afternoon we either played soft ball or just lollaped under a tree (it was very hot )

In the pub the was a quiz (there always is), and the rest of the time was spent, mingling, drinking and chatting.

Sounds really good, just my thing. I mean the mingling drinking and chatting! Oh and sitting under a tree of course!

There's always some sort of afternoon event so that the under 18s get to join in, which is what the trip to Hyde park was. The quiz is always based on h2g2 so can be very funny. There are prizes as well.

The mingling, drinking and chatting parts are what the meets are all about.

Do you live in London or are you travelling to it?

I'll be travelling, not entirely sure where from yet though. Neither date is during term time, so the chances are I'll be travelling from Hemel. There's a vague possibility that I'll be making my way from Nottingham though.

Sorry ACE, silly me, of course you study in Nottingham don't you? You've told me all this before! When you're as ancient and senile as me you forget what people have said to you

I'm used to going through things several times to young and old alike, there are just too many things to remember

I'll be coming down from Coventry, it's fairly straight forwards. Turn south and keep going!

From Hemel it's just a half hour train ride to Euston plus about the same on the underground.

It's about an hour on the train from Cov, or three on the coach. Thought about driving down but if we're all going to have a drink then that's probably not a good idea!
