I somehow knew you'd like flying, and then you said you were going to the Highlands when I said it was beautiful there!

Well, they are great. Not been to the highlands themselves for a while and it's high time I made another trip.

Was your trip to Switzerland a school trip? I went to Austria when I was 12, and managed to break my leg! Luckily I did it on the last day, and not the first.

Do you mean the girl guides? I was a cub, and then a scout. Ah, camping at Rough Close, "Ging Gang Goolie....!" No sleep and ants in the jam. Wonderful!

Yes, I was a Rainbow, then a Brownie, then a Guide, then a Young Leader and then a Guider . I still help out at a Brownie pack.
Ging gang goolie, made the mistake of teaching that to the Brownies, they got it stuck in their head and sang it all weakend

When I was in the scouts it was really cool if you could "get off" with a girl guide I made some really good friends in the scouts, and had a good time for a number of years.

I used to help out with the scouts too after I left, but the troop disbanded a few years ago. Now I'm trying to start a group for underprivilaged kids in the area where I work, it's hard going, but I think it will be worth it in the end.

Quite a few have, the program's been completely re-written recently though for both scouts and guides, the changes seem to have gone down very well. Now that's some task but I certainly find that brownies is worth the effort.

Anything that gives kids a sense of belonging, some social responsibility, and a peer group they can trust has my vote!

What was the meet like? I have been thinking of going to the next one.

Great . Played games in Hyde park then spent hours chatting in the pub. It was the first time I'd been to London on my own and my first hootoo meet so I was a little apprehensive at first, soon got over it though. Been to three hootoo meets since and am going to to summer one (hopefully ).

It's either the 26th June or the 10th July (there's a poll at the moment to finalise which date will be most suitable). I'll go find the link
