Today is the anniversary of something that you really don't want to have to remember.
1 year ago today my father died. From lung cancer, a terrible, horrific way to see anyone you love die, let alone the amguish that they themselves must suffer.
It has been a strange day, filled with mixed emotions, but it has marked a milestone on my road to recovery. I feel stronger now than ever before, readier to take on whatever life throws at me, and more in touch with my family.
I feel however that I should say this:
Dad, I love you, I miss you. Though the hurt does not lessen, the load becomes easier to bear, and though time passes you remain with me.

In a (really) strange way I'm kind of O.K.
I know that sounds a little weird, it has been on my mind rather a lot today as you would expect, but the thoughts have been healing.

i do understand my friend... my dad passed 2 years this coming april, although not under such tragic circumstance....
you never forget, how could you, but it does get easier to accept and live with....
may the angels guide and guard you on this day and always....
