h2g2 The Hitchhiker's Guide to the Galaxy: Earth Edition

Hi I'm new to this type of roleplaying (I usually do tabletop). What do I do to get started, where do i start roleplaying. I'm not sure if it is done on other threads? If so where are they. sorry if this sounds a bit silly but this is probably the first serious attention I have payed to any kind of forum so please help.

well lets go through the basics

the action takes place through threads
there are different threads for various locations on various planets

all actions (movement) should be written in *s* and if you are interacting with another person please give them time to respond it's only fair

talking needs no symbol not even "s"

if you see ~~ then that means someone is talking through telepathy but this communication is limited to the planet you are on and generally you need to have met the person or have a strong link to them

as for where to start
you can start your training on the YAVIN IV thread and i will get an npc to train you till a pc comes along

Thanks that's helped alot. I look forward to starting. Before I do what rules govern race, sex, and things like that. Is it all just cosmetic or is there a generation process that you use. Are there any limitations for instance playing a Kushiban Jedi Consular or a Keldorn Trader/Smuggler. Is it just better for the sakes of ease to have a generic character. And finally where can I find Yavin IV (please don't say outer rim). Thanks for all the help.

well i for example play a changeling that due to a genetic abnormality has to look human who is an ex-dark-sider with links to smuggling and the hutt but for reasons unknown to her at least is now a jedi master

so i don't think your idea is too bad


A1116622 is the main hub it has all the main playing arias
A1131562 is Yavin IV

most of the pages were made by the previous games master
with only one or two exceptions
but they are all relatively simaler

oh and feel free to make yourself a starship (nothing too flashy, no padwan with imperial destroyers please) and a set of chambers (so your charector can sleep) if you think you will need them
