h2g2 The Hitchhiker's Guide to the Galaxy: Earth Edition

Lynx was this morning so I wasn't woken up until 6 am. I didn't feel like getting up so I basically ignored him. But you don't ignore A Starving Cat. He complained loudly, started to climb on my head, just occasionally inserting a claw... and when I stubbornly refused to get up he started to push down my watch, figurines and bottles of body lotion from the book shelf next to my bed. I voiced my disliking but refused to get up.

Just before nine placed himself on top of my chest and started to purr. That's a much better way to wake up,so this time I caved in and went up to service the Lair Cats. Litter boxes were scooped out and breakfast was served. Lynx still thought he needed parts of my breakfast, though ...

After , , sandwiches, reading and checking my emails it was time to get started with the daily tasks. Laundry was folded, the Lair was vacuumed and mopped, clothes and linen towels ironed (!), bills paid, letters written, bags packed, recycling deposited and the Lair was set in order. princess, who needed access to the interweb and used my computer, made pancakes for dinner.

Only just over half an hour later than expected I checked in at Neurosurgery. I'm already bored. Fortunately the Uni's wlan is working so I can access the interweb and I've brought a couple of to read. Hopefully I'll be let out Wednesday and can spend the erst of recovery at home cuddling cats.

Tomorrow there will be some maintenance work done on my cranial plumbing, so I'll get a shave and a new hole in my head.

Oh, my. Poor . and I'll be thinking of you and your new hole in the head.

I am sorry you have to go through this, but also relieved that something can be done.

Thoroughly scrubbed and disinfected I'm in bed, and I'm itchy. No lotion to calm it down since I'm ... disinfected... The procedure will be repeated tomorrow morning before I'll get the close shave.

so the night just gave me some painkillers of the kind that usually makes me Quite good since the bed is less than half the size I'm used to, no Lair Cats and there are other people in the room. Well, if they snore as much as the hatchlings accuse me to do, it might get noisy

It's 6.30 am and I'm waiting for my turn to be scrubbed and disinfected again. No and no .

Hospital beds are awful to sleep in, and in spite of the extra blanket I've not been warm enough. Guess I just can have some cyber to comfort myself with.

Hello... I've missed what procedure you're having, but it sounds like something up on your noggin. Hope all goes well, and in the meantime, here's a couple of cyber to keep you company, and a to lay on your bed to keep you warm!

Two hours ago (15.10) the neurosurgeon arrived and said the surgery was postponed until tomorrow. Obviously something else took longer time than anticipated.

I've had breakfast now - and a couple of sandwishes.

It's been a most boring day. Morning call before six o'clock, disinfection and than three before anyone managed to get a needle in to one of my veins and hook me to the i.v. line. I got little bandages here, there and everywhere as souvenirs.

Dinner's on the way, finally I'm going to be fed. But admittingly I'd rather be in post-op now...

You mean WE have to go through all of this again, tomorrow?
