Tramadol Nights
Secretly Not Here Any More Started conversation Apr 30, 2013
Think I've slipped a disc in my back. Couldn't sleep last night, so resorted to two tramadol.
Shouldn't have. Not only did it not help me sleep, it did weird things to my brain. Aside from seeing leopard spots every time I blinked, I quizzed L about the following things:
Q: Can she please reassure me that I don't have a Lego man head?
Q: Why is all snow called Dave?
Q: Where is the cat? Is the cat hungry?
The third one might not sound weird, but it did end up with me stark naked in the kitchen at 3am, attempting to make the cat a sandwich.
Don't do drugs kids. Drugs are bad.

Tramadol's a bugger. Try Dihydrocodeine & Paracetamol for severe back pain.

I'll see what the doctor gives me this afternoon.

If he's anything like mine it'll be a referral to a physio. That was five weeks ago and I haven't heard a thing since

It'll be reet. Worst comes to worst, I'll find some alternative painkilling methods.

seriously did not need that kopfkino (what do you say in English?)
Back pain - as to a slipped disc, no idea what kind of physio one has to do for that. But I hope you can get something from the doc soon.

Kopfkino? Head cinema?
That'd be a mental image in English, wouldn't it?
Tramadol Nights
swl Posted Apr 30, 2013
Oh - I thought Kop f'kino was a reference to cerebrally-challenged Liverpool fans.

HonestIago Posted Apr 30, 2013
Nah, we just use 'Liverpool fans' for that.
Did L have an answer for why all snowflakes are called Dave?

mental image is ok - but Kopfkino is so much better. I love how German seems (to me) much more... descriptive.
I mean, only they could come up with Ear Worm...

All snowflakes are called Dave so you can tell them apart.
German a strange language, though of course it gives us schadenfreude, a word that English was jealous of, it stole it.

I like to tell them there is no English word for that because it's a concept we don't understand
although I've never heard it used by a German, now I come to think of it!
