then i think the sign language alphabet i know would be the american one. i *think* i saw the british one being used in 'four weddings and a funeral', but i can't be sure... the american one's where you clench your fist with your thumb straight up for an a, and all fingers up and thumb bent for a b, right?

the idea of signing online just seems really weird to me! i used to know the BSL alphabet, but i never knew any words.

Yes, that's ASL. (one hand) As I said before, I believe the British manual alphabet is two handed.
Signing online is weird. I think it was a bit of a joke.
But I have a friend who is Deaf and signs and another who has a CI (she is deaf) and speechreads and communicates orally instead of signing. I am rapidly expanding the words I know, although I have other hearing friends who have known Alex for longer and know more signs.

same here, but only occasionally. It's annoying though, I always want to know where they came from and how they found me.

it's one of those mysteries you never solve... you wake up in the middle of the night, it keeps you up, thinking about it, nibbles around the edgesand frays your nerves... and you never get the answer.... spoooooky

yes. I'm glad I'm not "new this week" anymore. Those words basically put you on a hit list for random researchers to stop by. I didn't get ACE'd because someone named Matt had hit my space first and I no longer appeared on the list of people with no messages/postings, so everyone assumed I'd been ACE'd.
