Just in case anyone has a copy of the June issue of trail magazine, that bunch of crazy ramblers with a tent on top of Tryfan's me and some rambling friends. smiley - biggrin

For those of you who don't have the June issue of Trail magazine (everyone I expect smiley - laugh) the pic's at http://www.su.nott.ac.uk/~ramsoc/images/photos/grade304a/22.jpg . smiley - biggrin That's me on the left with the purple and green rucksack and the super huge gloves smiley - laugh

And before anyone asks, it was for the 'tents in unusual places' competition smiley - biggrin

Gotta smiley - run

Grroooooovy.

Purple and green are my favourite colours, and the super huge gloves are just to *die* for.

So that's not usual for tents? And there's me looking for two big rocks every time I pitch one. I dunno, I guess you should read the instructions from time to time.

Scrambling up mountains in bad weather is great fun smiley - biggrin. Though some foolish people had taken school groups up there smiley - grr. They didn't even have boots some of them; the rocks up there were covered in ice.

There is a café on the top of Snowdon, but not Tryfan smiley - biggrin

Schools in England seem to have some smiley - weird ideas, sometimes .
I'm not much of a mountain climber, not even in nice weather- but then I'm more than twice as old as you - so I have an excuse smiley - biggrin

The school trip is dying; teacher's unions are just telling thier members not to take children on school trips anymore. Quite sad really. My Dad was getting upset because he can't even burn a peanut anymore (he's a physics teacher).

George, the President from 1973, still comes to visit. smiley - biggrin He lives in Germany and is still rambling. Trouble is it's kind of addictive.

Schooltrips are reduced everywhere - lack of money and lack of teachers.
Well, but then we didn't do many when I was a pupil - and look what has become of me smiley - winkeye

I loved school trips, I probably learnt more on them than I did in the classroom. smiley - biggrin

Didn't have many but the ones I did have made quite a big impression. But then that's quite obvious as I'm now taking environmental science and want to work in a field studies centre. smiley - laugh

Surely you ought to get higher marks for the effort involved in getting the tent up there! smiley - laugh

I'm vaguely offended by the implicit suggestion that I don't read Trail magazine smiley - cross, even though that's thoroughly unreasonable. Great picture though!
