Hiya, Terri! Sounds like you're all doing well, glad to hear it! I expect to visit the post office if not next weekend, then shortly after I return from vacation. I'll aim to send your drum head off to you then.
All's well here, too. I'm a bit nervous about going away- I don't like to fly, and I'm worried about the cats being alone most of the time we'll be gone, but I am sure everything will be fine.
Can't believe I'm leaving such beautiful autumn weather for warm and muggy again, even if just for a few days. But I will survive.
Always lovely to hear from you. Hello and love to P and all the critters.

Hiya all! for responding; sorry to hear about your sa experience with the cow, Prof, as an Animal expert i suppose it may have been Job experience Training?
PC, hope you survive the warmthnessish, i find total Nudity is usually advisable in such conditions
Thinker; Thurrock seems to be rather undergoing stress right now, may-be get a Council appointed >shrink for the entire town Council?
Meanwhile, here's another True Life Story of Solar infections, honestly, we thought tonight that there may be some sort of correlation between solar & off trolley....
HO (homeowner) "can ye please come to fix my system
or i'll be divorced by tomorrow?
HOW (home owners wife, in hysterics)"I'll connect the main grid after he's dead!
HO: that's not a nice thing to say in front of the Solar man
P: Er, what exactly do you feel you're missing out on?
HOW:A Hoover.
SOHO (Son of homeowner)If you like Hoovering so much, why don't ye just go to the neighbours & hoover their house?"
*******
In other news, i phoned directory enquiries today to find the phone number of God. Nice irish girl tells me "God doesn't exist in Eye land, maybe try International Enquiries?"
Which i did & got told; nope, not in Eye Land, shall i try England, USA or Spain?

Terri, total nudity's nice, but as we'll be around my parents I think I'll pass... We'll survive, it's just three days, four nights, and some odd hours.
Must get batteries for the cat feeder (AC adapter won't arrive before we leave) and spare keys for our designated cat visitor.
It's a gorgeous day here today, Terri. I wish I could send you some of these leaves from the trees in front! Maybe I'll send you a photo later.

Terri I agree that the council need a shrink especially as they brought in a badly organised new types of bins for recycling. It took a month before some areas of the borough got their new bins emptied. The blue bins are for the usual paper, plastic bags, tins and the brown bins are for kitchen and garden waste. The kitchen waste has either got to be put in special bags that are bought at selected retailers are with newspaper. There has been a lot of confusion with bins wrongly not emptied even though they have obeyed the council guidelines about what bin liners to use for kitchen waste. Other people should have got the new bins have not got them and other people who should not have got them have got them. I think it will take several months before all the problems are ironed out.

I have found the whole recycling thing here in Eye Land to be totally crazy, when compared with France. You have to buy special green plastic bags, which are actually quite expensive; for stuff that can't be recycled elsewhere (food tins etc)
The bottles can be dumped free, but only at certain times on certain days.
Anything else such as plastic you pay for going & dumping (so: if no car; can not do!!!!!)
The Council don't tell you when they will collect recyclable or non rcyclable stuff, so it ends up on the roadside gathering rodents.
In France, the Council supply you free with different types of bags & collect every day except Sundays at a definite time, you get a calendar telling you when there may be a delay for bank holidays etc.
Right now, we have the entire middle room clogged up with rubbish, we burn the cardboard/paper etc, but plastic bottles are doing my head in. P has just spent a load of money on buying a water filter to avoid buying bottles of the stuff; it's so chemically treated here that it's a health hazard if you don't remove the toxic stuff the water board have added. P goes up to the natural spring on top of the hill when he can, or drinks filtered rainwater; but all this takes so much time & i certainly can't do it myself; so i tend to stick to(homemade!)

*feels smug about recycling*
My bin these days is half full in two weeks, maybe five bags of garbage. Walking distance to recycling center for paper, cardboard, glass, hard plastic and metal. If I started composting too, there wouldn't be much in my bin. Some soft plastic packaging.
If only I stopped driving too, I'd feel even better.
Some plastic bottles have a refund so those get returned to shop.

More mayhem today as ny shared recycling kitchem and garden bin was not emptied today so I went to the council and telephoned the waste and recycle bin so I have to put the bin out again and I was given a ref number incase that they don't empty it by 3pm tomorrow.
