Hiya Aye Beesmiley - pirateWench, how's things?

We didn't in fact end up going either yesterday or today, both felt rather rough after party stuff; it's uite a long drive, alarm clock didn't go off etc...so decided to see if tomorrow might be better; we've just been doing routine stuff around the farm today & are pretty well forced into having an earlyish night 'cos there's been bog all sun & bog all wind, so electicity is low.

Should be better soon though, P is installing yet another bank of solar panels; i honestly reckon we are headed towards Award of "Most Solar in smallest house in Eye land"smiley - rolleyes

P has probably got a talk to do on Saturday at the Organic Centre, scroll down to renewable Energy...

http://www.theorganiccentre.ie/

....and guess who is going to be there doing the "Huh? But I don't understand?" role?smiley - rolleyes (With luck, i may even get paid for it!smiley - winkeye)

So, what are the rest of you up to?

Hi all, good to catch up on your latest joys & sorrows etc...can't stay long, am runnng on battery Beast mode, since there have been bog all windy or sunny times here for the last week, electricty is short....but ohh, it ain't half romantic, oil lamps & candlelight!

We went out today intending on the seaweed bath & yet again failed, ended up at a Museum of Country Life, fascinating:

http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Museum_of_Country_Life

plus usual visit to smiley - doctor

zdt: "hi,just a quickie, i've stooped the antibiotics, whadya thinkof the leg?

doc: looks grand, now, whadya reckon to this printer of mine, it ain't working well at all

zdt: No idea ask P, his sin't workin either

doc: (hopefully) Is he in the waiting room?

zdt Nope, he's run off with the smiley - dog cos he's scared to show you the lump on his back, i reckon it's a sebaceous cyst, nothing sinister

doc: You're right, tell him to put a hot brown bread poultice on it, how big is it?

zdt: about an inch:

doc: ah, no prob, i've seen ones the size of tennis balls; if it's really bothering him, he can get the yuk sucked out

zdt Here or in hospital????

doc:Not here, i'd be afraid i might hit an artery then the cleaner would complain at the blood, best get him to sign a disclaimer saying he doesn't trust me. Now about these solar panels & computer....

zdt: Would ye give a free consultaion medical for free consultation solar?

doc:Yes, i do barter. Look! The printer's working! What drugs do ye want?

zdt: just the usual but more antihistamines, the midges are out again

doc: Fine, here ya go.. now is ye man back yet?

zdt: (checks) Nope, he's away with the faeries.

doc: Ok, tell him to pop in whenever & buy some brown bread."

It could only happen in Eye Land!

Meanwhile don't forget to send giraffes. Do say i sent you please!

My Dad always kept lamps incase of power cuts and when he was living on a farm in South Africa that is all the had. Dad had great green fingers and the best thing he grew were pumpkins which tasted very sweet and little water coming out it when cooked.smiley - cool

Interesting things arrived by smiley - theposttoday:

1) From the Social Welfare Office:

"Re: Your Appeal for Disability Allowance:

The appeal is disallowed. On the basis of the evidence available to me, I find that the length & continuity of residency is insufficient to establish Habitual Residency in this case. The move to Ireland was not directly, or recently, from within the common travel area, and therefore this does not have any bearing on the situation."

2) A nice pair of genuine woollysmiley - sheep Oirish socks for P's birthday (Nov 7th) arrives in record time.

3) A letter from his employers announces he is now in charge of inspecting other sorts of Sustainable Energy projects; the £$ he gets for this is roughly the equivalent of my hoped for Benefits.

So: looks like i had better just write 'Home-maker' if questioned as to my status on the planet. Since this includes acting as secretary, assistant building worker, installer of solar panels, farming, gardener etc; i suppose i am pretty much in full-time employment!

Luckily, we just smiley - rofl & got on with building a wall; even though my legs are dodgy, my arms w**k well.

It does occur to me though, that if they didn't & if another person didn't happen to have a supportive partner, what the hell would they do in this situation? My country of birth has stated they wouldn't give me benefits either, France won't now, i have no family.I suppose i could pursue this via the political protest route, but frankly, i am sick & tired (literally!!!) of the effort; i suspect the main motive of 'The Welfaresmiley - snork System is to make people give up trying.

Hi Terri. It's been great getting re-connected on facebook. I thought I'd try to catch up with you here. Could you possibly direct me to a thread(s) that cover what happened in France and how you came to be in Ireland?

AYEBEE PW - RIP TERRI

she will but i'll give you the condensed version!.

boy in ireland meets girl in france via quirky friends connect type site out of sheer boredom..
boy and girl quickly become connected and have trillions of things in common
boy comes to wooooo girl, and snatches her off to chill out for a weekend.... via dirty deeds in posh hotel..
boy sees emotional and current situation of girlie as 'damson in this dress' and decides to jump aboard his trusty red steed (with storage space) and go rescue said damson..
impetuous? yes
romantic? god yes
is there more to the story? absolutely.

but thats the bones of it int it terr ??

now in the remotest part of our small island we have a german paddy/fronch-english-middle eastern type green energy couple, a donkey, a goat, 2 cats and a dog.. (are there more, cant remember) living in harmony and at one with nature.....oh. and a dancing priest

except the govment dont want to play ball and declare her an artist so that she can 'draw' the dole. fnar fnar.

....i'm amusing myself. chemo starts today and i'm like a cat on a hot tin roof. any of you that are in touch with someone up above that knows how to fix stuff,........ please keep it up. we have a long way to go. .

many thanks.

Terri is there are a citizen advice or similar organisation in Ireland that you can help take your case up for you with the Social Welfare office?smiley - cuddle

It's so unfair they way they have treated you and I hope that someone or organisation can help you.smiley - hug

AYEBEE PW - RIP TERRI

thinker is right terri
citizens advice will tell you more options than they'll tell you down in social welfare.

they dont have any loyalties and they'll tell you if there is anything u can do and anything you're entitled to.
