I'm sure it's more luck. When we used to play before it was a case of getting people from enough time zones on the team to be able to 
saving you from being triple fished while having enough from the same time zone to be able to put in three 
at the same time on your enemies.
Lots of people are particularly vulnerable at certain times of the week.
I also have to say that a lot of duplicate accounts were set up so that people could control several characters at the same time.
