Tea might work, coffee might work better, because I don't like the stuff. A cicigarette or two usually works.

my dad was smoker he died nearly 10 years ago of long and liver cancer at age of 63.
in my eyes
smoking is tabacco indusrty / government assisted suicide.
stop it now.
in my eyes
smoking is not cool and will never be cool!
stop it now!

My grandmother has never smoked in her entire life. She died of a brain tumor. It took her 6 months to die, she spent the last 2 months bed-ridden, couldn't do anything herself, had to be fed, helped to the bathroom, after a while she couldn't even manage that, didn't regocnise anybody. That's pretty horrible too. It's a choice you can make.
And it's not exactly governement assisted. If everyone quit smoking now, the entire economy would probably collapse overnight. It's a big source of income for them.

"not exactly government assisted"
"entire economy would probably collapse"
the quoted parts contravene with each other,, you say because of taxes on tobacco the "entire economy" still exsists. the taxes on tobacco are by government! so they assist in suicide!
the pressure on health care is gigantic.
my dad died 10 days after he heard had long and liver cancer. I had no real time say good bye. my health was poor then and he kept me selfdistructing any futher. 2 years later I was 45 kg (100 lbs) and discovered my diabetes with complications. I was hospitalised..the rest you can read here A1028170
on wednesday I am going to hospital again to remove cataracs caused by the laser treatment of retina in my eyes. I am scared. even more I wished my dad was here!

The govenement receives the taxes, but if they wanted people to smoke more, they would lower them, making it cheaper for people to smoke, wouldn't they? Instead they keep raising the taxes. Ergo, they do not support it. Besides, I'm not exactly known for doing what the governement wants...

they hgher the taxes goverment gets are needed to pay for more healthcare...
you should see any taxes as income for goverment. the increase of taxes is hardly method making people stop or less use less! just look at how many people still drive cars!
higher taxes might make some stop smoking, but the people that are not stopping is still bringing in more taxes!
only if they would forbid it they would not assist in my eyes!, but that would costs more in policing.

You can't just tell people to stop doing something for no reason at all?
Bring on mandatory thick coats in winter! Curfews if it's too hot outside! Laws against rugby, rock climbing, and alcohol! A complete abolishment of meat! Have all the snakes, lions, wolves, sharks and poisonous spiders put down!
Smoking is simply a choice people make. Like going to bed on time, or staying at a party untill 7 in the morning. You can't force people to not do it anymore than you can start a campaign to erdicate all traces of the common cold. People have free will, and a basic right to use that free will. If it doesn't cause direct harm to others, you cannot reasonably make it illegal.

you forget very important one thing: people die, because of smoking!
the government must discourage you from smoking, because of dangers!
further more all your other comparisings is biggest nonsense if I have read, because you compare a posoinious snake with a garden snail!

People die fishing, people die rockclimbing, people die from colds (if they develop into pneumonia), people die from eating peanuts, people die skiing, people die from drinking too much, people die from watching tv, people die because they trip over their shoelaces, the list goes on and on.
There's plenty of people who smoke and don't die from it, and there's people who live healthily and die at the age of twenty because they fall asleep while driving a car.
There is no way to make life safe. The only way not to go completely mad is to do whatever makes you feel good(provided it doesn't harm the people around you).
When people pick up a cigarette, they do so knowing full well it is dangerous. It says so on every single packet of cigarettes. You can't simply make choices like that for people, if you do that, you will create a race of people completely unable to think for themselves.

"You can't simply make choices like that for people, if you do that, you will create a race of people completely unable to think for themselves."
I never said you can not make choices! I believe in the freedom of choice!
stop comparig a posoinious snake with a garden snail!.
smoking kills a lot more people, than rockclimbing, because only rockclimb as hobby or professional.
I had discusion with a few diabetics who rather have cancer, than be diabetic. that is stupide discussion. I do not want either.

"I never said you can not make choices! I believe in the freedom of choice!"
Than why not allow people to make the choice wether or not to smoke?
When all is said and done, everybody dies. Life kills, not smoking.

poeople choose to smoke as long as keep my suroundings free of smoke.
that is my choice!
b.t.w. it is proven smoking kills more people and just living!
every body dies, but smokers choose the chance of dying younger!
Awww, bless.
Ralph the Wonder Llama and André the dodo; Excrement Occurs Posted Sep 18, 2005
I agree with you, that people who don't want to breathe other people's smoke shouldn't have to. It's a good thing that a lot of public buildings are made smoke-free, and if I'm with a group of people, I always ask them if they mind if I smoke.
And yes, they do choose to risk dying younger, but I'd prefer to die young than to grow old, weak and frail, and sit behind the geraniums while all my friends die off one by one, and having 2 things to keep me occupied: discussing scandals and discussing 'kids these days, they're all on roller skates and drugs!'
Live fast, die young. It's better to burn up than to fade away!
