Apollyon - Grammar Fascist Posted Sep 6, 2004
I saw the very last episode, which was feature length, though still haven't seen the movie. Since when is Hawkeye married? And jus why DID Klinger stop wearing dresses? It was funny when he dressed up as the statue of liberty for MacArthur's visit, but got a salute rather than a section 8. It seems that the series went on about 4 times longer than the actual war.
Good bit in the first one with Sherman:
Sherman: why do they call you Radar?
Radar: Oh, because sometimes I know about things before they happen.
Sherman: I see. *Goes out the door.*
Radar: Officers' latrine is on the left, sir.
Sherman: Thenk you. *Stops, gives Radar a strange look.*

Hawkeye in the film was married, when they are setting up the shower scene Hawkeye s trys to show Hoolihan a picture of his kids
Alex is a fan of the TV series, when she first saw the film, she was askin who was who so I said "that's Hawkeye and that's Trapper John", she wouldn't believe that Donald Sutherland was Hawkeye, to her Alan Alda is the only one

I think it's a shame they never got round to making the M*A*S*H Goes To Maine film. It's a good book, it flows better than the first one and it has more of Melay Marsdon and some of the other characters which were mentioned in passing in the first book

I've just see nthe one where they put Penobbscott in a cast up to his waist. That was seriously funny.

Someone else plays Hawkeye?! Someone other than Alan Alda?

Reefgirl (Brunel Baby) Posted Sep 7, 2004
Yes Donald Sutherland (father of Kiefer, for the younger viewers) played Hawkeye in the film and Eliot Gould (Ross and Monica's dad in Friends, for the younger viewers) played Trapper John

Yeah and Tom Skerritt (Viper from Top Gun) played Duke Forrest. Then they replaced most of the cast, Radar being the only original cast member, and they even got rid of Duke completely
