Mother's are weird

And mine is no exception. As most of you know I went to see Bon Jovi on Friday night and I've had my Crossrads CD on a fair bit over the last couple of days, this afternoon I was tidying up my room (Shock Horror) when I came downstairs I heard it playing again, I knew it couldn't have been Alex because she couldn't have cared less about them, which left mother.
"Did you put the CD on" I asked
"Yes" she replied "I thought it was Old Harry's Game" Crossroads was into its third track by then
Which is strange because normally she'd turn the CD off or change it for the one she wanted.
I'm left wondering if I know my Mum as well as I thought I did.

hmm, it could meen lots of things, the simplest one is that your mum just like the music and dosent want to tell you.

I shouldn't worry - my mum started a long (and to me, at the time, boring) convo with my then boyfriend when she came into the living room and asked if I'd borrowed her Atomic Rooster LP.
As if I would have. (not liking them at the time)
He did though, and it led them along Yes, Deep Purple, Led Zep and the Enid as well as Zappa, Vangelis and other strange stuff like that. I was relegated to making the coffee.

My mum's a Jazz fan and she does have extremely good taste in Radio comedy which she passed on to me, I love Round the Horne, the Navy Lark, I'm sorry I haven't a Clue, Old Harry's Game, Elephants to catch eels, Deadringers and Shyster, Flywheel and Shyster

I like some of those, but I haven't heard of others.
Sho - if you do meet Reefgirl, make sure she bakes cookies.

Yes, like I'm supposed to be exercising. Aren't women weird?

to be fair... (and since I'm a mother, it's not too off-topic) I did take part in a run today
and shaved more than a minute off my time from last year
and overtook two men over the last 50 metres (to great applause) to sneak in well ahead of them (younger than me)

Yeah, women. If I had something on my to-do list like dieting, exercising or (as a hypothetical example) tidying up, you wouldn't find me sitting here reading h2g2.

It may have something to do with the various piles of books and papers I see around me. I forget.

piles of books are legitimite mess
as are piles of ironing, piles of unread magazines and... well, that's what I have.
Instead of this tidying thing, a trend which will never catch on IMO, I am off to play with power tools.

I had to give my room a huge tidy up last week when my ex hubby stayed over and I'm trying to keep it that way. My cookie recipe is now in the EG so anyone who wants to have a go at it can if they want
