Yep, same here, are you coming to the Summer Meet Bagpuss?

Indeed, something I never needed to fear, ... my mother 'borrowing' any music. When I still lived there, she liked only two kinds of stuff, country and western. And if they didn't involve cheating, a train, a truck or an old dog, it just wasn't good by her standards.

My mum the other day was humming 'Whole Lotta Rosie' by AC/DC, i dont think i could ever play that song again now

Must buy eggs as well, after the egg-holder fell out of the fridge with six casualties.
Sorry, Reefgirl, I'm going to Hyp's Presidential Meet and won't be back in time for the London one.

I don't know about you lot and your Mums - whenever I want to listen to a decent CD I have to go and borrow them all back from my kids. Be it Bach, Bon Jovi, Robbie Williams, Pink Floyd, Vivaldi or Toten Hosen (don't ask). Anything but Stones, practically. (And I think they only refuse to listen to them on principle.)
When they leave theirs in the car, which they invariably do, I have a great time driving (Spanish ska at the moment - anyone heard of Ska P? - they really cheer you up) Windows down, volume up - ignore the red lights etc etc
(How old's your Mum, Reefgirl?)

Oh I like Reich & Sexy - but then that's probably just for Nekkid Campino (sorry, dragging the thread down!)
I'm quite happy for the Gruesomes to borrow my music. #1 is into all sorts of stuff from Benny Goodman to Elvis to the Beatles to Dido to Coldplay (she really loves them) etc etc
Plus she's listening to the same horrible europop (but Tokio Hotel are off the menu now, thank Bob) as her mates. But her absolutely favourite song is Take it Easy by the Eagles, especially if she can sing along while my dad plays it on her guitar.
My mum doesn't mind AC/DC and Iron Maiden, but she prefers Genesis and Gabriel. She positively hates going in the car with my dad who insists on Abba, Richard Clyderman and James Last (just to annoy her, I think)

Mum's of a pensionable age, she does like Queen, I caught her watching Queen live in concert on TV a few weeks back

I once came home to find my mother rocking out to an ancient Blue Oyster Cult Vinyl LP. That was worrying. Its killed "Dont Fear The Reaper" for me.

I came this close *holds his fingers really close together* to going to see them live in Berlin last year, but they moved one of our lectures to the day after and it had a test in it

Do you people mind? I _didn't_ get to see them live because of my crappy uni, of which I am no longer a student, and quite frankly I'm feeling slightly fragile abaout the whole situation and extremely enviouse of those of you who have seen them...*sniff*..

Die Toten Hosen were at the same festival - it was worth going just for that!
