What are you waiting for, I'm off out today to get the envelope I need to send your booties off, I'm trying to knit socks, it's really difficult on 4 needles, I'm going to try and make my circular needles shorter

Oh! I thought they were in the post already and was growling quietly at the mailman every day...
Wow, my baby is mobile today! I can't wait 'till I have it and it seems to be anxious to come out, too. Got a parcel from my mum last night, according to the blue sleepsuits she's sent, she must reckon it's another boy... I still want a girl.
Why shorten your needles?
The True Meaning of Christmas
Reefgirl (Brunel Baby) Posted Dec 30, 2005
I have to shorten the wire bit in the middle because the stitches won't reach all the way round

Circular needles are used when you want to make a tube like socks or a sleeve without a seam, the wire is too long in the middle

I'm just thinking of my grandma knitting with those things and wondering how does she know when to start a new row?
It's too confusing for me...

Either use a row marker or go in size, when it reaches a certain length turn the heel or shape the shoulder

I see. Then run this by me- how do you maintain even tension? I can never do that, but I think it has to do with the way I hold the needles.

Don't pull the stitches too tight and make sure you use the right size needle

I love listening to sound those knitting needles make. My grandmum taught me how to knit. It must be at least two decades ago since I've knitted something. Come to think of it, I need a new scarf.

Try some of the fashion wools they have, the furry and feathery ones or better still the super chunky ones

I've got to find my knitting needles first. Where did leave them? Super chuncky ones? Sounds good. I want a orange/brown one with a bit of blue here and there to go with my new cap.

I like the one that is called Tudor Rose, but the colors don't fit with my coat and cap. I will have to visit the city centre in the next days and see what's on offer in the shops. I can buy the correct size of needles after I've made my choise in fabrics.

True. I had a very nice scarf of ... alpalca?? ... wool, something to do with lama's. I had it for years. In my absence my dad washed it at 60 degrees in the machine. Well, you must let things go.
