Sho - employed again! Posted May 7, 2005
>>I'm lucky I guess - a friend of mine's husband spent most of her pregnancy telling her how it wasn't the right time and that he didn't want it. <<
Some men are like that - you sound as though you have found a good 'un though!
I'm quite jealous - I'd love to be pregnant again!

Sho - employed again! Posted May 7, 2005
I loved being pregnant, and it suited me. Plus I put on less weight with that than ... well, only 4kgs each time. As for the births, #1 was induced, but I think she was on her way already. I was in painful labour for only about 4 hours. With #2 I nearly had her before i realised labour had started. Noticed the first painful contraction just after 6.30pm, she was born at 8.03 pm. Can't complain. Although I never got any of the groovy drugs which left me slightly disappointed.
But then, I don't like children so being pregnant would be a bit silly for me.

The girl in your dream was called Lily?
You must have been visited by the conception
And the Archangel Gabriel's emblem is the lily...ooh, I'm getting goosebumps!
I feel a great vibration from this thread, all the love reaching out to you and little Lily from every part of the world...so many people so far apart, all joined in love by the wonder of the new life that grows in your womb.
Bless you Fynn I can't wait to give you a big

fynn,
The thing to remember about the painful bit is that it will soon be over and the reward at the end makes it all worthwhile. The pain is soon forgotten, or else why would anyone do it again
I am sure you will make a super Mum, especially with a good man beside you. That makes such a big difference. There is nothing quite like the sharing of a new baby to bring you close.
The first baby is a practice run and everyone makes mistakes from time to time. I always tell my eldest son that he was a steep learning curve, as I had no experience whatever of babies when he was born and he seems to have survived !
Keep us posted.

Congratulations!
what wonderful news.
Hope the nausea is easing-up.
My first born was called maggot in utero, still is a maggot 11 1/2years later and doesn't mind at all. Now you're almost half way through your pregnancy you can really connect with the life within you. I used to massage and talk to my bump a lot, and she talked to me. I knew she was a girl from quite early on, and she came with a name we hadn't thought of
Did you know I'm setting up as an independent midwife? Feel free to ask anything. Your midwife is your main carer but I can give another viewpoint if you need one.
Rest, eat well and enjoy this very special time in your lives

It's lovely to have so many good vibes heading my way from all over the world!
Thanks everyone.
Bless you GB!
It's strange that my work with pregnant and labouring women finds me calm, collected and centred.
Now that it's *me* that's pregnant, all that's gone out of the window and at times I feel overwhelmed and panicky and nervous as a kitten.
I'm not sure if having witnessed labour and birth close-up is a good or a bad thing - on one hand, I sort of know what to expect and can prepare, on the other hand I know what to expect and can panic...
Damn my pregnant brain!
Congrats on setting up as an idependent midwife Meg!
I may well have a few questions for you - I'll pop along to your personal space.
The nausea is mostly gone, but the headaches are still making far too frequent appearances.

Hormones make emotions run haywire so don't worry. I'm sure your time with labouring women will be of great benefit to you. More good vibes.
Meg.
