TJ's breathing problems should get solved within a month, AR1. He spent last week at the sleep clinic ... they said he didn't snore and didn't appear to stop breathing wearing the machine. Once the results come back, they'll decide whether he needs to sleep with the machine or just a mouthpiece. He said the machine hurt his nose, which isn't entirely healed from the surgery yet, and he's hoping for the mouthpiece!
I have earplugs, but they are uncomfortable, as I need to sleep on my side. He's been sleeping with a pillow between us as a buffer, and I've been putting an extra pillow over my head when needed.
I hope you're feeling better!

Dearest Shea and TJ,
I hope that you are both going to have a wonderful Labor Day. I shall imagine you walking hand in hand along your promenade. Stopping off for some wonderful clam chowder and a lovely cold glass of whatever is your favourite drink.
Then going home to your cosy nest. You have not told us whether you have managed to unpack all your wedding presents. How about posting some photographs of what the inside of your flat looks like.?
Dearest Shea - that is why I suggested the cotton-wool soaked in wax - they are bought in chemist (pharmacies there?) you then just soften them between your fingers and make a saausage, then plug them into your ears. They make a perfect mould and are untterly soundproof. No longer will you hear the sweet murmerings, the turtle dove coos, the wild wind and the lashing rain. And of course the rolling thunder!! All you will be doing is sleeping, Ah beautiful deep sleep!!. And you can lie on your side with them.
I am worried about Pandora - but what can I do. Not a peep from her.
Incidentally my hands are settling down and yesterday I was able to work in the kitchen without gloves on for the first timein YEARS. Wonderful. Only the fingernails feel numb now. and slightly swollen. And as I am being very careful about diet for my dear old ticker, hopefully the angina and Blood pressure will stay when they belong - low and hidden, but no longer menacing!!
I am also feeling so much better from the kidney infection, so life my dear friends, is looking up. As soon as we can get K.to his wonderful professor where he can be stabilised I feel that life will be complete - until the next time!!.
Fond love to you both and I shall have a virtual martini with you to celebrate Labor Day.
With fond

I'm so glad things are looking up for you AR1! It's about time there were some improvements, isn't it?

I'm so glad to hear your hands are feeling better! And the kidney infection! My goodness, it's amazing how much better life looks when you're feeling weel, isn't it?
I love your idea of our Labor Day better than the one we actually had! It's been cold and damp! It's 62°F/16°C right now, and drizzling. My sister and her husband were going to come over, but he wasn't feeling well, so we did some more work on the upstairs, and now TJ's playing games on his newly resurrected computer. I've got a meatloaf in the oven, and we'll break out the to have with it. I still have hopes for this evening, that is if I can pry him away from the computer.
We did go to Red Lobster for a lovely dinner last night, though. It was a last minute decision, but a good one! I had a mixed seafood platter (lobster, crab legs, shrimp scampi and fried shrimp), and TJ had a platter with shrimp prepared about 5 different ways. We ordered drinks at the bar while we waited for our table, and you would not believe the size of them! I needed 2 hands to carry mine to our table! I think they said they were 24 oz. drinks. I had a margarita, and TJ had a strawberry dacquiri. Yum!
We haven't unpacked all the wedding presents, and we won't be ... not in this little house anyway. We don't have room for all our things. We take things out as we need them, and repack them in their boxes when we're done. I have dreams of a real dining room with a china cabinet one day.
I'll break out the digital camera and try to take a few pictures for you ... I did say *try*. For now, you can click here: http://f2.pg.photos.yahoo.com/sheathesarcastic2 The Blizzard folder has some pictures of the outside of our house, and the Christmas one has a couple of pictures ... but only of the livingroom (and that's minus a chair to fit the !). The picture of me in front of the house gives you a good idea of how small it is. The window on the left is the livingroom, and the one on the right is our bedroom.
I've never seen the earplugs you're talking about, but I'll have a look for them the next time I'm at the drugstore. Thanks.
Take care of yourself!

I think the mold-to-fit earplugs are called Flents here in the US. They come in a package of about a dozen or so, because after a few uses they tend to get kind of dirty looking, but it's pretty much impossible to clean the dirt out of that waxy stuff.

*Now* I think I know what kind of earplugs they are! Thanks, Lady Scott! I've tried them before ... my sister used to w**k for a company that distributed all sorts of earplugs.

Hayla all,
AR1 - good to hear you are improving in leaps and bounds, if only metaphorically speaking (don't try the real thing luv) Sorry to hear about everyone elses ailments....
I've just crawled out of bed after getting home from Chicago. Spent the Labour day weekend there with TPC. Was GREAT fun, although Labour day itself and the day after was rainy and cold. Didn't manage to get up the Sears tower for it was covered in cloud for the last forty or so floors. We saw enough of the inside of clouds from the hairyplane!
At some point we'll be putting in a travelogue to the Post - hopefully it will be accepted TPC already has a couple in there so it might.
Now, to the washing. And as it was raining hard on our last, and sight seeing, day - and I chaged clothes and put the soaking ones in my hold luggage, that will NOT be fun
Luv and hugz
Zantic.
P.s I think I may have interested in doing the picie you thought of AR1 - are there any photos of you flying around the internet? Can you remember who took photos of you at the meet you attended?

My dearest Zantic
WOW/ I did not know you were off to the States Was it a sudden decision? I am sorry that you appear to have had such grim weather. Shea was also saying that that the weather was bad. The visit really sounds a great one. Was it your firs?
Now about the the crazy card. It was Gnoman who took the pictures at the last summer meet i.e. 2002. I do not mind how silly he makes me look as long as I am overtaking the huge lorries and fast cars!!.
I really mean it when I say that I would like to buy a couple of his pictures. So hope that you can persuade him to put more on the virtual gallery.
It was so nice finding this letter. I wondered where you had disapeared to. I will look up the travel thread. It sounds very interesting.
Fondes to you my sweet,

My dearest shea,
You just throw them away when they look grubby - they are so inexpensive that it is really worth it. And the DO work.!!
Had not visited this thread for a while so it was fun reading it.
Sorry about your abou yourlousy Labor Day. Poor Zantic went to the States for a visit and had horrid weather. He friend is going to do a fun Christmas card for me - I hope!!. I have lost my address book - real one - so am obliged to ask all my friends for their real addresses and telephoe numbers again. It is a bind, and there are important things in it like the name of the firm that repairs wheelchairs etc. etc.
Fondest
