Do I also have to call Louisiana, "Wheezy Anna" or would that mark me as a tourist too?

There are some days when the air is a bit thick around the refineries...

In my accent: Loo eez e anna
In a thicker accent: Loooozzzy anna

A bit about Cajun culture:

I was about to say, Loooozzzy anna is the way I hear it most of the time... that is... on TV, when spoken by a local - probalby cajun accent?

Yeauh, dat's da Cajun accent.

Any one ever heard of, or heard John Folse, the chef?

Don't be fooled by Emeril Lagasse, he has a restaurant in New Orleans, but he isn't from here. His recipes are really good, though. And, his show is pretty entertaining.

Well, how y'all are? That was Justin Wilson. He was well known as a comedian for years before he started the cooking show.

I used to watch Justin Wilson's show for the jokes.

He believed in cooking with winesmiley - redwine. So, after he filled everyone's glass, he would start cooking.
smiley - cheers

Is that why all he ever made was the same seafood gumbo recipe over and over and over? smiley - winkeye

He only blackened it so he could toss it in that week's seafood gumbo. smiley - winkeye

A trout stuffed with a rice dressing was the feature of one show. I've forgotten most of the jokes smiley - cry. The food and the jokes were not the most important thing about that show... It was part of a movement to regain a bit of the Cajun culture.

Anyone care for a smiley - redwine?
