... Why are h2g2 meets always too short? Just enough time to wander round and put a load of faces to names, with the obligatory
"So you're [insert name here]! But I thought you were taller/slimmer/male/female/a different species/a figment of my imagination/older/younger/human![delete as applicable]
So, to all of you I didn't say hello to... hello!
and to all of you I did actually speak to... I didn't mean it, it was the beer talking
Why do I always end up with a hangover after an h2g2meet... maybe Im allergic to Mina or something

Blind, me! No, that was just an excuse for looking at toccata's tee-shirt from a range of 3 inches
Unless I missed something else due to the beer... were there hordes of beautiful women throwing themselves at me and I was too sozzled to notice ?

I was actually referring to your 'Mina definitely went in the Tube station' advice. Which was true, but you missed her coming out about five seconds later, which ended up with us getting seperated until we got home...

Whoops! Sowwy!
So did you get lynched when you got home or is she waiting to crucify me the next time she sees me?

No, we're both safe. Mina was relieved to see me, and we actually travelled home on the same train, albeit in different carriages...
If nothing else, it finallytaught mer why mobile phones are useful.
How was your hotel? And your journey home?

The hotel was fine... considering I woke up at 4 am in the morning with the TV blaring and the lights still on hope the people in the next room were deaf
The journey in both directions was a bit infuriating...
Get on a train in Lyon... travel the 450 miles to Lille in just 3 hours (including two stops) so an average speed of 150mph (considering stops etc, the train was probably going at around 200mph in places).
Get off the train in Lille, climb onto an identical train, manufactured by the same company, but painted in the colours of Eurostar, whizz across the French countryside at 200mph, get to the tunnel and the driver stands on the brakes, taking over well over 2 hours to cover the 110 miles to London... If only someone would sort out the railway lines in the UK it would actually be a pleasant journey!

Hmm, I have no idea what he was looking atbut it must have been...interesting.
Alarming beardist tendency at this meet, as well, what with Whisky, Andy R, Superdogmonkey, myself...Perhaps we should have a little 'Beardist' breakaway group of our own...

Gnomon and Marijn as well...perhaps there's a connection.
perhaps I could get a *huge* research grant to look at the correlation between internet use and beard growth...

That's one scary photo!
Caption anyone? I can't for the life of me figure out what I was doing... unless someone was about to pinch my drink
Nice meeting you by the way Gnomon... and apologies to the rest of the quiz team as I seem to remember spending half the time chatting to Peta and Mark
The reason for the beard is simple... I get ten minutes extra in bed in the morning... although looking at that photo makes me think I need a little extra beauty sleep

Think I should pass the hat round to see if anyone'll donate to the "WHIsky needs Plastic Surgery fund"?

anyway... the beard thing... yep.. i do have a beard myself at times... i had to shave it last week because the trimmer was broken []... does that make me a part-tine beardist?!...
