I usually the one lending the money. Borrowing the money will be weird.

well, if you stop lending money, you could afford University
Just kidding of course, or am I? No I wasn't

I know that feeling, i dish out heaps of stuff then end up having to borrow myself & feeling guilty. Grandma always said "Neither a borrower or a lender be"; she was right *but*.....how the hell can you refuse someone you love when they are in need & at *that* moment you have it & they don't? I can't do it; i find it almost impossible to pass beggars in the street; i can cope with charity appeals by post or online, but not rattling tins.
zdt*too soft definitely; but better that than being too hard in my book*

I completely understand that one. Especially if the ask and I can't immediately see why I *need* the money.

Take it from someone who's been a constant lender for years... don't do it!
As recently as two and a half or so years ago, I lent someone a *substantial* amount of money. He'd invited me to visit (he lives abroad) and stay at him home so I could see someplace I'd never been before. And I spent the entire "visit" lending him bus and train fares, lending him money for gorcoeries and such, lending him admission to various touristy spots, etc...
Not only has the never even made an effort to repay me, but when I finally got to a point where *I* was running low on funds, he went off on me for being both a bad friend and a selfish person, then proceeded to trash talk me to any mutual friends.
None of the folks I've ever lent a helping hand to have ever done anything to help me when I've been in need, except for one, she knows who she is .
Charity begins at home, sweetheart, and you need to start looking out for yourself first. Occasionally lending a helping hand is one thing, but when it becomes too frequent, and it isn't reciprocal, you can run yourself into serious trouble. I'm in debt up to my now, and if I had back half of the money I lent to that so-called "friend", I'd be in pretty good shape. See what I mean?

FF - Say after me... "I love/like/care/etc for you, but at this time, I do not have spare funds available. In addition to paying my own bills, I am trying to eke out enough to go to the university. If this is cause for you to end our friendship then you are not a very good friend indeed!"
Or, much easier and to the point "No."

Even ALICE wants money!
Human: Do you need a hug?
ALICE: No thanks but you can send me a donation.
Human: I have no money.
ALICE: Would you like to have it?
Human: Are you offering?
ALICE: I don't know whether or not I am offering. I am a robot.
Human: But you can ask for money?
ALICE: Interesting. No I don't think I can do it.

Human: Can we kill viking?
ALICE: Do you mean you and me? I am programmed not to kill.
Human: Can Terri and I kill viking?
ALICE: Can what?
Human: Can Terri and I kill viking?
ALICE: What if I said it can?
Human: What if frogs had wings?
ALICE: Try it and see.

My cousin seems to be on here again. He may have just stopped in though. I left a message for him if anyone wants to say hello.
