early morning nightie
Tabitca Started conversation Jul 17, 2008
I had to run around the garden in my nightie at 6.30am this morning, in the rain, trying to catch bagginswho had caught a small bird.
The bird seemed unharmed so I put it in a bushy plant in a plant pot high on the wall so no other cats would bother it, until it got it's breath back .It hopped into the pot so I think it was just scared.
I don't feel so good now
Blooming animal...I told him he'll get sent to the cats home
Our garden backs onto a local bridle path that is well used so I may have startled some early morning riders or people going for their newspapers.
Nessie said I have to have a thinking day today and decide where I want to move to and what to do.I would struggle here on my own, if she leaves to go study elsewhere(which is quite likely) as it's quite a trek by bus to town and the service is notoriously unreliable.
trouble is I have no idea what I want to do or where I want to be
I want to be back at work but may have to just do part time for a while and maybe study part time. Life throws these things at you and you never know which way to hit the ball for the best!
have a good day everyone. Hope it's not raining where you are

Hi Clive - How's sunny C'fld? Humans (including me) are generally too sentimental when it comes to birds. I have two cats and one of them is obsessed with killing/eating birds (you would think he hadn't been fed for at least a week) I still hate it when I see him stalking and do my damndest to stop him. I have even bought one of those huge water pistol guns; which he now runs away from without anyone having to water him.

pouring down with rain since you as.
We try to discourage cats from from our bird feeder, however since they think they own everything and have a divine right to go where they pleas, it has not and I suspect will not have much effect. I was just puzzled what seized Tabs to go chasing the cat in her nightie at 6.30am?

For clive...because it was 6.30am and I hadn't had had chance to get dressed yet .The bird flew off later so was only shocked a little life saved.
It's the second bird in two days unfortunately I was too late to save the other one, it died of fright. So baggins is in disgrace...but he doesn't care
He usually has the sense to take his catch elsewhere so I don't know but it's been raining last few mornings so he thought he'd bring them in .If he was hunting to eat them, which he does with mice, I wouldn't mind so much ,but he just plays with birds and leaves them.
However turning around on hearing a crunching noise and seeing him with a mouses's tail hanging out of his mouth is no fun either
But I love my cats dearly they are good company and make me laugh.
