Similar! I had a great time, though my brother's house was a little overcrowded for my tastes, and the travelling involved was less than pleasant.

I dont even want to think about balancing the cheque book - I think it may be a bit better described as juggling ...
I got a really bad cold for Christmas 
still I did not have to go and see my mother!

Hard luck about the cold.
I usually manage to pick up some niggling ailment or injury over the festive season, but this year I've been okay. Mind you, I mustn't speak too soon, there's still New Year, and I've just realised that it's nine years to the day since I fell down some steps and broke my right arm in several places.
