Well
Its coz its by the sea side
Its a lovely day here today and being by the sea would be gerat. At the end of this month I am going up to Scotland and will be near the sea and my favourite 
Not only will it be good to see the people, to have a few days off work, it will be good to see the sea. When I get back I will be going straight to the South Coast for a couple of nights - so I will have seen the sea at the very North of the country one day and the very south the next

Gosho, the American Heritage Dictionary
gives the primary definition of "links"
as "A golf course." The secondary def.
has something to do with undulating terrain
near a seashore.
There are also sausage links, which Jimmy
Dean would know something about.

My favourite is near Lossimouth in Scotland. You can find a link to a picture of it here A671708 Its not the one on the front of the pages but follow the link and you will see it
It will be a lot of travel - I am flying to Inverness from Gatwick so drive to South coast will not be too bad from there, but I hope to see the sea both ends in the one day
