Well, it's South by Southwest time again in Austin, and we've got almost 50 bands playing at Cheapo from 5pm today until 10pm on Sunday Our biggest draw last year was a Japanese ukele duo called Petty Booka, and they're playing again tomorrow (Thursday) at 4pm.
I just went to their website and found this page http://www.sister.co.jp/pettybooka/pb_e_video.html where there's a .mov clip of them performing at Cheapo last year which you can either play or download (it's a big, 4Mb file, but it's worth it )

Well, right at the end when the camera pans all round, if you squint really really hard toward the front of the store, you might see me standing behind the counter... but prolly not

Oh... I thought it was me but it's really just a lifesize cutout of Ozzy that the record company sent us as a promo

You had to be watching American TV
in the 1950s and/or 1960s to get
that one, Gosho. Nobody here thinks
twice about reminiscing about British
TV shows from that period, though.

Well, this a BBC website Paul, and most of the shows that people remenisce about are old BBC shows - Steptoe and Son (which became Sanford and Son), Til Death Us Do Part (which became All in the Family... that was the one with Archie Bunker wasn't it?), Dad's Army, Morecambe and Wise (although they had brief flirtation with ITV). In fact the only real 'classic' show I can think of right now which was not a BBC show is Benny Hill. Ans *all* the favourite radio shows will have been from the BBC because independant (ie commercial) radio didn't arrive in the UK until the early 70's, and has mostly concentrated on either music or phone-ins.
And LHG What a rare midweek treat We didn't get to see you at all last weekend did we? How are you?
