BAM! look at that bacon sissle...once you get a convo that is self sufficient and doesn't need you to post on it to keep it going you'll be able to be away for a while and return with the society still active...my sugggestion...make a tea room...cliche but effective...then hold a meeting of some sort there or something of the like and advertize it(in the case of The Evil Tea Room, we've discussed invasions there and I advertized this on the MotMV page...although that wasn't what made it self sufficient...it was The March For Jack that did it...but still...)
