Ah yes. Went for 38 week check up today. No head engaged, which I am assuming means labour is not imminent, but otherwise position good, length good, heartbeat good and so on.

Personally I'm puling for May 15th. I get to go to the meet, but she doesn't outstay her welcome.

Oh, I was just thinking about you earlier and wondering if we need to start a sweepstake smiley - smiley

How is the leg? Glad everything looking good to go with the Comet - are you awash with pink at home yet?

The leg is getting there. Can now walk, mainly without limping and without pain. Well, that was yesterday, today it seized up again. Still, mobility is no longer a distant dream.

Am quite awash with pink, yes. The thing is, I get a lot of my baby/ kids clothes from car boots, and my long held theory that there are twice as many people selling girls clothes as boys has been proven wrong. There are at least four times as many selling at least three times as much. It's hard to resist. I am now down to cherry picking anything that doesn't have pink on it. But the cute dresses. The little cute dresses. *ahem*

There are two reasons for this.

Firstly, the cute dresses. They are SO VERY cute that people will not be able to prevent themselves from buying them for you as gifts and you end up with more than she can wear before she grows out of them.

Secondly, boys destroy everything. My lads have trashed pretty much everything they have ever had, and the clothing that has survived to be passed on is all stuff that needed ironing(therefore hardly ever worn)/didn't fit well when bought/was given as a gift in not quite the right size, or was very well designed (less than 5% of items in this category). Everything else might he handed on for nothing but you wouldn't get away with selling it.

Plus most boy's clothing should be best described as 'robust' and therefore not as prone to impulse purchase as the cuteness you see in the girls section.

I always try to reign myself in for gifts, and often buy handbags for them once they get to about 2, rather than clothes.

I am sometime very grateful I didn't have a girl, and one of those times is when I see the price of those oh-so-gorgeous winter boots.

I was wondering about that myself (I'm hoping to be making these sorts of decisions myself in a while, providing our personal biology doesn't get in the way). There seem to be so many more things for girls. Mind though, that's the same in adult clothes as well. Girls are apparently encouraged to care about clothes as soon as possible!
