I don't know much about this conspiracy theory, nor how much truth there is to the claims and in what way if any the facts are being manipulated to support the theory, but I still thought it an interesting file...

And the little I was using a funny little conspiracy theorist. Similar personality types, maybe.

Yeah, that's kinda cool. It does raise a few questions, as Gothly pointed out. I'll elaborate on that another day.

Not really sure about that- I still think it was a plane, but find it interesting that the flight recorders were never retrieved for that or for the WTC planes. They were supposed to be able to survive. Something certainly stinks, but I'm not sure what.

I suspect that there's there's a great deal more energy involved when a plane flies into a a solid object as opposed to a flight data recorder falling to the ground after an explosion in the air or a crash where the pilots are doing everything they can to save the plane or passengers.

Of course snopes would say that, it's a USian site!

Well, the thing is those "black boxes" have been engineered and tested to withstand a lot more force and heat than was involved on 9-11... I can check that against my aviation-oriented buddies to confirm, but I think they were designed to withstand a direct hit from a SAM.

A direct hit from a SAM on the aircraft or on the box itself.

It doens't take an awful lot of missile to cripple an aircraft. You're dealing with a lot of speed and a delicate aircraft. It doesn't take much to bring one down. Many missiles are programmed to explode somewhere near the target. They don't have to hit to do enough damage to stop the fight.

In the 9/11, attacks you have a lot more energey than normal in the crashes. In the trade towersw, you had a an impact into a building and then the building burning and collapsing. At the Penatgon, you have an aircraft at full speed flying into a bunch of rock.

I would think that the results of either impact would be substainailly more catastrophic than a normal crash. As with most explsions, you'd probably be surprised at how much you do find.

Then again, I'm an American, so you can safely discount anything that I say.

Scandrea happens to be a USian. From Ohio as I recall. I don't discount what people say based soley on their nationality. Well apart from the French obviously, I'm British.

The aviation buddy had appendicitis this week, so I couldn't quite bother him on the black box issue. But I still maintain that there shouldn't have been enough energy to completely destroy the black boxes in any of the attacks. Weren't recognizable pieces of the planes' skin found?

Instead of being unpolite about nationalities here, I will try to be on topic...
I finally saw the flash presentation of the link above. I had never seen those pictures, they all got lost in the footage of the towers.

I think it does look weird - the hole is too neat for a whole big plane. I find it curious that only the vacated part was hit. I find it very strange that the fed's took the surveillance film from the petrol station so quickly.

But I can't explain any of it, just sit here and wonder. Was the official version true? Was the flash presentation real footage, or was it fake? I have no way of finding out. I was not there.
