My luck finally changes!

Thanks to Mr Desk and everyone else in the Virtual Supporters Club. We'd had a debate on 2-2 being the lowest scoreline that would send Sweden and Denmark through no matter what Italy did, and on Monday afternoon, I got an email from one Paddy Power offering me a free £20 bet if I placed one of my own with them as a new customer before midday Tuesday.
So I bet a £20 double in Italy beating Bulgaria and Denmark drawing 2-2 with Sweden as required. 9-2 on the draw, 2-9 on Italy.
So in the last minute of the game, Sweden having just equalised and I was just starting to berate myself for being greedy and going for a double at relatively small odds... when Italy finally scored in injury time, I took off my t-shirt and ran around the pub waving it around my head.
And for the first and probably last time in my life offered to buy drinks for the entire pub.
I feel better than James Brown

Here in Ireland, a pint is €4 - €5 which is about £2.70 - £3.30.

A pint's roughly £2.50-£3 in 'local' London pubs, a bit more in the centre. And it was indeed a relatively sparsely populated pub, but even so it was great to be able to, for once in my life, step up to the bar and say 'milky bars are on me'.

Christ, really Gnonom? Remind me not to go to Ireland in the near future.
Here bitter costs anything from £1.70 up to £2.20.

I'm not bitter
In fact, it's only because my body clock's still set to work early shifts that I'm up and around at this hour.... got a bit trollied last night, as you might expect.
in that order, I think. But then I am a bit of a lightweight

Apparently the bookies got hammered on the 2-2 draw, but made it up with Italy going out in the first round.
You didn't have a tip off from the Swedish/Danish camp then? that would definitely be news...

At my local a pint costs between 1.95 2.40, yet our landlord still tinks it is cheap!

Congrats Six!
If anyone thinks that the 2-2 draw was a fix they obviously didn't know that the Swedes and Danes spent 90 minutes trying to kill each other

Had a great night last night - there's a really good Malaysian restaurant up on Turnpike Lane, so I treated my housemates to a bit of a nosh-up. I'm still full now...
