So, we go to our History class.
Some left at fifteen minutes.
Most left at twenty.
Only about four remained by thirty.
I was one of the sragglers who waited forty.
Mainly because I had nothing else to do, granted. But still....she's a normally punctual professor. I wonder what happened.

Perhaps she was out making her own history?
She forgot to mention the field trip to the Parthenon and wound up going by herself?
The spirit of the ages caught up with her?
It was a test to see if the class would use their time wisely to do something socially relevant, or just fritter it away on trivial pursuits?
There was a sale on timepieces down at Tesco?

Well, as it turns out, she was ill. She'd apparently told someone to email the class, but that email never got to us.
As a result, the quiz scheduled for today (over the 400+ page novel "L'Assamoir", of which I've read maybe 200 pages) needed to be replaced by the previous lesson's lesson. The quiz, meanwhile, has become a take-home quiz. So, while I can use my book all that I want to, it means that I can't get away with rationalizing things and will actually be expected to cite examples and use quotes and things.
Mixed results, but I think that I like 'em.
