Thanks for the tip, Crazyhorse, but I suppose you've got about the same teenagers in Scotland as we do in France, I'll still lack the authority...

The interview went fine, the lady was nice enough, and she said I'm very likely to be kept.
So... In a few days or weeks, I might have a job!
It consists in writing descriptions of the products they sell, to put on their website.
To quote a good friend of ours...
"easy."

And anyway you have to go through another full training course to get qualified for this country, as I expect you know. Regulations, regulations...

We're now talking about another interview, Toybox.
She called me again next day, and I'm going to a second interview, with her boss, tomorrow afternoon.
Sounds promissing.

Apparently, I still have 3 or 4 opponents...
The lady said it's going to be difficult to choose.
I should get some news soon.
It's a job for a company that sells furniture by correspondence ; they need someone to describe their products for their website. They need someone who writes perfect French (spelling, grammar and stuff).

Well, it happens that people are more lax about their own language than about learned languages. The reason for it, I imagine, could be that native speakers speak the 'evolving' version of their language, while non-native speakers (who learned the language with stern teachers ) would speak rather according to the Rules.
Then again, maybe not. I'm no linguist.

On the other hand, I'm quite convinced that SF's French is perfect (I didn't mean to sound like she doesn't speak well! Sorry if I did )
