I'm popping in as one of the assistant community editors here, aka <./>aces</.>. We greet newbies such as yourself and help you get nicely settled into our online community. Nice concise introduction, smiley - ta *sigh*so many seem to prefer more-or-less total anonymity. Nest, to familiarize yourself with the new surroundings*gestures expansively*review my colleague Feisor's list of Hints and Links at A719840. And feel free to examine the various features in the process. Among the many obvious items Feisor mentions are the assortment of <./>smileys</.> and our newspaper <./>thepost</.>. Those are only two of many though.

Further down the list you'll find The h2g2 Post's Links Page, which is indeed a pageful of links! Links to-among other things-the Researchers' smiley - earthMap at A5076614, the Regional Researchers' Groups at A660313, Zappa - The First Church of Appliantology at A977141 and the Personal Space Workshop at A1123354. But to paraphrase Pink Floyd somewhat, smiley - musicalnotejust four of the bricks in the wallsmiley - winkeye.

Don't hesitate to leave me a nessage if you have any questions. Simply use the 'Reply' button and I'll try to respond asap, alright. smiley - cheers

Fine dark choccie (Green & Black's?) is another 'like' I could so easily have put on my intro blog thingie! I mean, come on, who can't resist anything that's "Dark and Organic" and comes wrapped in foil and is NOT the subject of a huge TV ad campaign?

Anyway, anyway: I am at the end of bottle of something organic & red after a long stressful day (youngest son's 8th b/day, older brother went AWOL) my evening started at 11:30. This means that I am one of those people who goes to work for a rest & one of the UK's 8% of full-time single parents who are men.

I'm supposed to be saying 'Thanks for the intro message' here!
So, Thanks. Goodness knows why it has taken me so long to get on here - I mean to say that I have been a DNA, and a Hitch Hiker's (or Hitchhiker's or Hitchiker's or Hitch-Hiker's), fan for ages, and I work in IT. (You can tell, can't you?) Or maybe working in IT (& being a Luddite) is the reason - I was probably the last person on this street to get broadband! So, Thanks, I have already had a bit of fun on the word-play games forum.

I would like to add an edit the 'Edited' entry on South Woodham Ferrers (A1043128), as there is a place at its inner edge called 'Tropical Wings' which is a good family day out, and less expensive than a zoo! (http://www.tropicalwings.co.uk). However, I seem to be able to either: 1) post a new entry, or 2) add a discussion thread to the end of the existing entry. Is there a way to submit an addition to an existing entry, be it 'Edited' or 'un-Edited'?

smiley - cheers

p.s. just read your intro bit, so need to now say that 8 y/old son today spent £30 of his b/day money on a life-size Dalek Sek/Human hybrid mask thing that talks! he then proceeded to walk around town making grown folk look/scream/laugh & scaring small girls!

Hmm, being more of a Luddite than most Luddites I'm not 100% sure about the chances of submitting an addition to an existing entry. You may have to be content with adding a comment/starting a discussion thread at the bottom of the entry. You should be able to click on 'Discuss This Entry'. I'll have to remember to ask about that.

But you're welcome and it's always good to hear back from a new researcher! And being a full-time single parent is a Fully valid excuse for any delay in getting here...I certainly hope you enjoy it, now that you are here.

I have had Green & Black's, most recently the bar with ginger...oh & the 70%dark smiley - choc. Being over in Canada-& western Canada at that, 7 hr time difference-there're a couple Canadian organic bars I'm quite fond of. There's the Denman Island smiley - choc- http://www.denmanislandchocolate.com -from our west coast. Oh, also Terra Nostra- http://www.terranostrachocolate.com -from the west coast as well. And then the Cocoa Camino bars from eastern Canada- http://www.cocoacamino.com/en/index.php -though according to the label the bars are produced in Switzerland. Then of course a number of American organic bars are widely available...but*sigh*I'd best stop before the smiley - choccraving gets any worse!

smiley - cheers

Gonna be a quick one:

I was just reading a synopsis of our conversation to Joe (my 8 y/old), particularly you finding the Dalek mask incident priceless. He's asked me to say 'Hi!' and wants to tell you not to eat too much chocolate!
smiley - choc

Take care, gonna pop-off to The First Church of Appliantology for a bit!

A quick one here as well(running a bit late)

Say 'Hi' to Joe & tell him he needn't worry, I never eat Too much...ok I suppose just a tiny bit more than I actually need now'n'then. Let's just say I strive for that happy medium, just enough - never too much!smiley - winkeye
