A Man for all Seasons
This space is a virtual strip - tease where I attempt to reveal enough about myself to interest you but stop short before full exposure. So, with a certain degree of trepidation, I take my first step on the tight rope of exposure and hope to keep my balance...
I am part mystic, part poet and part scientist. An odd combination I confess but so far all internal conflicts have been amicably resolved.
Here's a mystical poem written last year whilst waiting for a plane in Schiphol Airport.
Down Decembers darkening days,
Past the seasonal displays,
I wander as a man part crazed,
Half in love with Love!
How often have I felt this bit,
Only to let the moment slip,
And return to being God's misfit,
When love was not enough?
For pain resides in what man hides,
'Til God and man coincide,
When at last the "I" subsides,
And all that then abides is - Love!
I studied Science with Chemistry, Electronics and Material Science being my subjects but as I grow older I begin to find more to interest me in the mystical rather than Mammon.
I enjoy good food, running for fitness and walking in the countryside, reading almost anything and writing poems and short stories ( not for publication).
I think that will do for now and hope to extend it in the near future.
