Oh it turns out I've only won one. One of the sellers has Welched on it, saying that as I'm a newbie with a 0 rating I'm untrustworthy or something.

The seller wouldn't accept my paypal payment because my address was unconfirmed. The only way apparently to confirm a paypal address is with a credit card. I don't have a credit card, only a debit card (which is why I use paypal in the first place). Ergo he decided that since he only has standard seller protection he wouldn't sell to me as he'd lose his seller protection.
anyhoo, like I said I had a winning bid on two, and that one was the dearer of the two.
