Hey there, lizard
$u$ Posted Oct 9, 1999
Okay, this is getting way too scary.
Let's just agree that there may, or may not, be such a thing as a free lunch...
...and I may, or may not, be a mythological winged equine (which, by the way, I am, therefore negating the need for further discussion on that point).
The great thing about spilt (yes, I know what I wrote!) personalities is that you tend to know what you're going to say next LESS than 50% of the time, which generally makes the conversation more buoyant.
I'm just going to take a lie down for a millennium or two now.....

Talking about chaotic. Check this music. Tupac Shaker "California Love". The great central riff, sampled from the brothers Troutman aka Zapp, who killed each other last year in a murder/suicide/love/hate/who's paying for lunch/pact...
Sorry, I was just passing and I thought.....

Hm, the personalities are multiplying like rabbits around here. Come to think of it, just how do rabbits multiply? I remember learning my times tables up to 12x12 in third grade, but rabbits never go to school, do they? On the other hand, with all those carrots, their eyesight is probably better than mine. Maybe they just grok multiplication naturally.

Hey there, lizard
The Lizard Posted Oct 11, 1999
and who was sapphire asking about his/her/its name?
Hey there, lizard
Researcher 93445 Posted Oct 11, 1999
And should we assume saffire and sapphire are the same?
Hey there, lizard
Irving Washington - Gone Writing Posted Oct 11, 1999
saffire, not sapphire. Get our names right.

A pegasus is a mythological winged horse. I wonder if it's young and been yelling, then it would be a little [winged] horse.

Irving Washington - Gone Writing Posted Oct 11, 1999
the question remains... who was the mysterious "sapphire" to whom the Lizard reffered?
Hey there, lizard
The Lizard Posted Oct 11, 1999
I'M SORRY!!! I can't spell! I've been playing this game where you have to look for these things called "Sapphire Books" and I juts got so used to typing that so often.... Aaaaargh!
Hey there, lizard
saffire Posted Oct 13, 1999
hmmm. now if only we knew what sapphire books were...

Hey there, lizard
The Lizard Posted Oct 13, 1999
they're these ten blue books that were checked out from a mage's library a long time ago and never returned, so for every two you find the mage will give you the password to another room full of books of spells so that you can learn how to do things like kill people with lightning and turn switches from half way across the room and such. Not all that relevant, really.

Well, I'm glad it's been cleared up in my absence, so I don't have to explain anything now!
Returning briefly to the subject of Will (of the spear-shaking), I have tonight decided (after my English tutor's comments on the subject of 'his' persona) that 'he' was undoubtedly a she. Obviously a female script-writer would've stood no chance in those days, and as Will was an out-of-work actor, it seemed an obvious collaboration.

Hey there, lizard
Researcher 93445 Posted Oct 13, 1999
Hm, considering those love sonnets, there might have been more than one reason for your postulated female writer to be using a front man.

Don't mistake me for someone (or several someones) who actually knows anything about Shakepeare. I am a total Shakespearean 'virgin' who is about to embark on King Lear.
'It's a tragedy...'
'sus
Hey there, lizard
The Lizard Posted Oct 14, 1999
Do you mean that King Lear is a tragedy, or that your embarking on King Lear is a tragedy?
Hey there, lizard
Irving Washington - Gone Writing Posted Oct 14, 1999
I've not read King Lear, so I can't help you there, but I'm not a Shakespeare "virgin" as you put it. I've read Romeo and Juliet (ugh), MacBeth (twice), Julius Ceasar (twice), Hamlet, and Othello. I've acted in time-edited versions of A Midsummer Night's Dream and of the Tempest (in fact I'm wearing my Tempest shirt right now). In eight grade (in the same class that gave me my first read throughs of MacBeth and Ceasar) I was made to memorize the clichéed "Shall I compare thee to a summer's day" sonnet, which sticks with me wherever I go. So if you need shakespeare info in general...
(oh, and there's a aside in the Guide's article on the Bard that adresses the "Shakespeare was a woman/gay/francis baacon/the queen of england" theory: http://www.h2g2.com/A120754 )
