Hey there, lizard
Irving Washington - Gone Writing Posted Sep 28, 1999
Don't know if it was spelled right.. in fact, it should be In-a-Gadda-Da-Vida. A song by a group called Iron Butterfly. It's really the only song they're known for and it's an interesting tune, with heavy metal guitar, a rock organ solo and perhaps the longest, most annoying drum solo in the history of Metal. I once joked at a party where it was playing that someone could hit the "repeat" button and no one would notice until the second or third time they hear the drum solo kick in. As the song is (in some versions) as much as 15 minutes (I think more, live) long it was only half an hour later that I realized I was hearing the drum solo for the second time! The legend is that the song was supposed to be entitled "In the Garden of Eden", but that the lead singer was sooo drunk he slurred it into In a gadda da vida. Well, that's enough (any more and I'd be writting a guide entry).

Peta, I don't know if you'll see this, but I might as well ask here: I've seen guide entries that are co-authored, how is that done? For instance, if The Lizard and I wanted to do an entry together, how would we do that?

Yeah I like that idea, Irving. Did you have a particular topic in mind?

Of course, a truly twisted conspiracy would occasionally throw in a message from someone completely unknown, just to muddy its tracks...
Pay no attention to this thought.

Jeeze, it'd sure spoil the novelty of me and Irving meeting online and having known eachother if we're really the same person!
Just a thought...
Researcher 93445 Posted Oct 3, 1999
Oh, I dunno. I think it might actually be sort of novel to turn a corner and meet myself sometime. I've always wondered what precisely the back of my head looks like.
PS - I think I can say with certainty that I am not saffire.
PPS - Maybe.
Just a thought...
The Lizard Posted Oct 3, 1999
Even if you CAN say with certainty that you are not saffire, how can saffire say with certainty that she is not you?
Just a thought...
Researcher 93445 Posted Oct 3, 1999
And of course I can equally say with certainty that the moon is made of old telephone books.
Just because I *can* say something...well, you can figure out the rest.
Just a thought...
saffire Posted Oct 3, 1999
i must say that i am most definitely certain that i may or may not be the precise back of ffmikes head...
...
?!

The Lizard Posted Oct 3, 1999
Forgive me for this:
To be the back of ffmike's head, or not to be the back of ffmike's head, that is the question! Whether tis nobler in the mind to look like ffmike's mind, or to resemble a super intelligent shade of the color blue, and not reseble ffmike at all. Something something to sleep perchance to dream, aye there's the rub! Does ffmike like to have the back of his head rubbed? For in that super intelligent shade of the color blue, what rubs may come? Something something mortal coil something something fardels something something undiscovered country something something hey look, it's Ophelia!
Just a thought...
$u$ Posted Oct 3, 1999
Now you know about Ophelia too?! I'm going to have to get *yet* another personality. But mark my words...
...this above all else, to thine own self be true!! (They used to call me 'Will' in those days).
'sus
But... Betty when you call me, you can call me Al.....
Just a thought...
Irving Washington - Gone Writing Posted Oct 3, 1999
I always thought that *I* was WShakespeare in a past life... this is getting too weird, even my split persoanlities have past lives and my past lives have split personalities! I've also been John Lennon (and can prove it because I was born just a few months after his death) and Bob Dylan's voice (you may argue that Bob Dylan is still alive (and puts on a good live show (with Paul Simon, Al, or is it Betty?), I might add), but the more important argument is whether his voice ever was). Any of these ring a bell?
