Oh shit, I should really google things before I get excited about them.

Well, there are other strong acids to choose from. HCl, HBr, HI, HNO3, HClO4, anyone?

I just googled Paradigm Shift and that's been taken too. Why, why, why???

"C60 - Buckyballs" (well, Buckminsterfullerene, actually)

You could try some other allotropes of carbon, such as graphite and diamond. But they're infinitely expandable, so don't have formulae. And then there are carbon nanotubes. Or you could just call yourselves "Allotropes of Carbon".

If you prefer dangerous chemicals, we have

"C6H6 - Benzine"
"C6H5OH - Phenol"
and many others.

But I like Buckyballs, myself.

Buckyballs...yes! That works for me.

I have a molecules screensaver. Whenever I approach the computer, there's a frisson as I wait to discover what molecule it's showing this time. Sometimes it's olestra or psilocybin or ibuprofen or chloroform...but about 3 in 5 times it seems to be Buckminsterfullerine.

It has nothing to do with chemistry (or biology, for that matter), but what about 'Promiscuous Cherries'?

I like that! What made you think of chemicals?

Since you're such an Anglosphile, how about just picking your favourite British slang word?

Other ideas:

Niello
Rhesus Factor (this is an actual disease though smiley - erm)
Aqua Regia (chemistry theme)

Can you tell I've had the dictionary out? smiley - winkeye

Or just pick a random word them stick the number 6 after it.

eg: Rex 6
Omega 6
Aquila 6 etc

Rhesus Factor (this is an actual disease though erm )

No it isn't. It's a blood factor. Rhesus *disease* is when a foetus has Rh +ve and the mother is Rh -ve.

Either way...it's a crap name.

On the other hand...

The Rhesus Monkeys?

Or even...Rhesus 6?

We're nerds, remember? And I used to be in ultra-special advanced (smiley - winkeye) chem and two of the band members were last year.

Besides, H2SO4 is without a doubt my favourite strong acid. Not quite sure why, I just like the way it sounds.
