A tentative step
Hello and welcome.
You have arrived at the home page of The Ambassador. Quite clearly, The Ambassador isn't my real name. I'd like to say that 'you had to be there' to understand where the name came from in the first place, but unfortunately as I was 'there' myself and am none the wiser, I don't think this would help. Still, there it is.
I am writing this from Auckland where it is raining.
Auckland is where I live, though I am not from here. My home, my family and many of my friends are in Ledbury, which is a small rural town in Herefordshire, England. I am woefully sentimental about both town and county, which is an irritation to most of the Kiwi's I have met. As far as I am aware they can only relate to Shepherd's Bush, or at a stretch, Hammersmith.
The Guide makes no allusions to Ledbury that I can find, which may or may not be by design. Either way, I intend to change that, as the three or so sentences I think I can provide on the subject will make a welcome addition to this excellent collection of connections.
As for Auckland, I will leave that to the Aucklanders, who are far better equipped to discuss it than I. Infact, I think they are far better equipped to discuss Auckland than anything else, except perhaps Latte's.
Feel free to discuss any of the above with somebody else. These are my views, and blinkered or not, I'll stick by them. Unless I don't of course.
