Rev Nick { Only the dead are without fear }

I have seen Whiskey around since I joined this site, and he seems a nice enough chap. But somewhat mature, so he may not be very interested in replying to such a young gentleman.

I too am somewhat worn out from the week-end, the finish of the spring cleaning, some yard-work as spring tries to arrive. And this week will still have a number of tasks for the evening, before the in-laws arrive. There-after, I will probably not be on-line very much for a week.

I am somewhat irked by a recent posting in a thread that was running so intelligently and nicely. If you have time, I think you might have some constructive opinions to add. Follow me home to my Personal Space, and look for a thread simply called "Marriage". Even if you don;t post, ...

It is such a rare day that a friend wanders around my PS. And I take it as a bit of a compliment. If I was as empty and vapid as some folks, there would be no chance of followers. smiley - laugh

If you ever find a great deal of spare time, browse around the Personal Spaces of those that I call 'friend', and they who return the favour. You'll find that I seem to get on well with a really varied assortment of personalities, and yet never quite fit in any 'clique'. It's always been my nature, I suppose.

Hmmmm, quiet and alone time, eh? Is the weather favourable for packing a picnic-lunch, and just walking off to some place natural and quiet? Sharing time with each other and the world as it is would seem a delightful respite.

And that really DOES sound like quite a book. After last night's browsing of the Koran, I may find myself doing a bit more reading this week-end. Finally, we are going to try to take a quiet one, and I do have quite a number of religious tomes and translations that I have never quite delved seriously in to.

Hm not a bad idea the picnicsmiley - ok there are some really lovely national parks not far from us will run it past Tom and see what he thinks

I hurt my foot about two weeks back and I need to get a steroid injection to help with recovery in the meantime trying to walk too far is quite painful I have been doing the treadmill thing but I find I pay for it afterwardssmiley - wah

Will also take you up on your suggestion on the PS now don't laugh but I have still not figured out how to start off a conversation do you have to leave a note on someones space what if you just want to float an idea and see who responds how does one do thatsmiley - blush

If you have a question or an opinion that you seek others' ideas on, the best place to go is your own PS, and click on the link "Ask h2g2". Near the bottom is the option to "Start a new conversation". Give it a suitable subject name, and then pose your thoughts ... Quite a broad spectrum of hootoo follows the ASK threads, so you may be surprised at the response.

I do hope you haven't done any seriously long-term injury to yourself, m'dear. A couple of years ago, a bunion began to set in to my left foot, and just last year, the right one has done the same. After a very heavy and busy work day, such as yesterday, both are a real bother with each step. But I have become accustomed to it.

Thank you for the info on how tosmiley - ok

Miracles do still occur I see smiley - whistle

Apparently I have torn the ligaments where they attach to the bone I have yet to get to a doctor this was using the tried and trusty online doctor

Do you have anything like the flying doctor in Canada mind you though you are bigger than us you seem to have more people too so maybe you don't need it

I currently feel in the need for aome stimulating conversation...some girlfriends of mine are going to start a group that meets once a month to discuss a topic of interest and how it relateds to our every day lives. I can't tell if studying is having an effect on me or what but I seem to be thinking about issues and topics I have never considered before ...actually that was kind of a dumb thing to say really wasn't it I mean thats what university is suppose to dosmiley - blush

That girls' "Koffee Klatch" idea sounds wonderful. And with your recently re-invigorated grey-matter, I expect that some pretty good time and chats might ensue. I do hope that it becomes a reality. smiley - smiley

A smiley - doctor who makes visits or house-calls is quite a rarity in this country any more. Still, there are some in the more rural areas ... perhaps they grew up there, and feel the need and the bond. Or still remember the original notions of what a family doctor ought to be. Living "in-town", of course I must seek out assistance if I'm really silly and lop of an arm or a nose or something.

smiley - laugh "Koffee Klatch" was a common club at a lot of the military bases and places that I went to. In the 70's and 80's, many lads served in Germany (we had two bases there) and brought wives home. They began to create these get-togethers, to share their time, experiences, tribulations, and native tongue. In time, the idea became a common thing, for all wives, whether Canadian English or French, Germans, English, or any other nationality that married in to the services. They seemed to find the whole time quite refreshing ... And it wasn't just coffee, cheese and romance novels apparently. smiley - rofl

That's why it took so long for me to reply ... I saw your note when it was a few minutes old, but it refused to let me reply. So after the 3rd time, and since our supper of take-away pizza arrived at the door ... I took a break. Apparently it now breaks every night, same time, because of a known flaw with their archiving systems. And that may continue well in to our summer.

So, when the Mister was in the uniform, you weren't one of the dancing, singing show-girls? Dang, another mental image shattered. smiley - rofl

no I was one of the smile nicely as you try to keep control of three toddlers in nappies while the head wife pases jugementsmiley - wah

Now If I was to describe myself I woud say if i was a:

Colour I would be orange
Bird I would be a maggie
Dance - I would be a charleston
Food - I woud be Satay
So that makes me bright,noisy,energetic and spicy smiley - whistle

G'day Nick

Post 320

Rev Nick { Only the dead are without fear }

The first three items I can easily recognize, but I have no idea what a 'satay' is ... Spicey, eh? Hmmmm. smiley - evilgrin

If I were able to describe myself in colours, music or foods, I'd probably prove to be a dull, boring mush. So it's a good thing there are wild and wonderful folks in the world such as you. smiley - laugh

Have you and the mister decided on what the day shall be?
